Description

Skar Audio designed the RP-600.5 to be an extremely powerful, efficient, and highly reliable five channel class AB/D full-range car amplifier. This amplifier packs serious power and is capable of powering an entire system, including multiple sets of speakers as well as a subwoofer. Featuring a high speed MOSFET power supply as well as 4-way protection circuitry, the amplifier will operate at maximum performance and also be protected. With a depth of adjustable user controls such as the gain, LPF, HPF, Crossover Controls, and Bass EQ, this amplifier is very versatile and can be used in so many applications. It's class AB and D hybrid circuitry design allows it to run very efficiently while powering your entire system. Great for powering four sets of speakers around 100 watts RMS each, as well as a sub stage of around 200-300 watts RMS.

Like I said it's long, so if you want it under a seat it's gonna stick out and be a mess. I bought it for that reason and too save a little money but instead it turned into an excuse to spend more. I built a 6" deep table to use as a mounting rack into my trunk to match the height of two low pro passive radiator boxes with 12s. The table is like a speaker box with no sides basically and the top and bottom held are together by five 2" dowels with screw locks all wrapped to match the boxes that fit in on either side to make a false floor. there's a laundry list of stuff to fit in there with the other amp and tons more and I honestly 🤞😉 couldn't have fit it in any other way. Plus I like having use of my trunk when I need it so it's nice to be able to just throw stuff on top of everything and not worry about it . I used computer box fans to vent everything if you're like, but what about heat? So if you need a good cheap amp or an excuse for whatever you can dream up this is a good choice. Mostly if you need a cheap amp though. I haven't had any problems with it as of this writing and I play it pretty hard with for 90w speakers and a punchy little 8" 300w free air rear deck sub ... show more

I was running 4 speakers at 4ohm and 2 factory subwoofers at 2ohm. Delivered some good power and hit the subs pretty hard. Only negative was that it got hot pretty quick. It never overheated but after about a half hour of decent use, it would be really hot to the touch. I would have kept it but I decided to go a different route with my speaker setup and had no use for the 5 channel anymore. ... show more

Has built in crossovers, plenty of power for a moderate setup on bass and high end setup on mids/highs. Doesn’t get any hotter than my JL audio 250/1 amp did. Only issue was sometimes had signal issues but easily fixable.

Update 10/12/19: replacement came in and got installed today, everything works great, I am impressed with the sound and power the amp puts out. Would def recommend. Update 10/8/19: Amazon is replacing the amp and I should have it today, will get it installed this weekend and update again once installed. Ordered this amp to install in my 2013 gmc with skar TX components and coaxial door speakers and a kicker sub. Amp goes straight into protection mode right out of the box. Installed an older amp I had to verify wiring was correct and it worked perfectly. Emailed Skar but awaiting reply, will update once I speak to their customer service. ... show more

Purchased this RP-600.5 to run my whole system in my 16 Ram crew cab. Its running kicker 3.5 dash speakers, skar 6.5 coaxials in the front doors, skar 6x9 rear door coaxials, and a MTX Series 55 10" DVC sub. I first had it hooked to a Skar EV10 inch sub and it sounded ok but the prefabbed box for under the seat was too big so I ended up buying the MTX 55 DVC sub with dual 2ohm voice coils I'm running in parallel to the sub channel at 1ohm. It sounds twice as good and really pushes the sub and has been stable. The amp works flawlessly and has many nice features for the price. I am very happy with the RP-600.5. especially being able to run 1ohm stable on the sub channel. Amp is super quiet and I am not picking up turn on noises, induction noises, or any kind of distortion. ... show more

I recently bought an '06 Jeep Wrangler that the amp and subwoofer had been stolen out of. I bought this amp to power 6 speakers and a 10" JL Audio sub. Skar customer service was great. I'm not a stereo install 'expert' but can usually figure most things out. I first contacted them and asked if I could wire the dash speakers and roll bar speakers in parallel and run all four off of channels 1 and 2. I emailed them on a Sunday and had a response in an hour or so. Skar informed me that each channel could operate at a different ohm range as long as that ohm range was within the amps specifications. My parrallel configuration yielded 2 ohms of resistance and so Skar said no problem. So I'm running 4 speakers as my fronts on channels 1 and 2 and 2 additional speakers as my rears on channels 3 and 4. Then the sub on channel 5. After tuning the amp's gains it sounds AWESOME!! At first when I hooked everything up I wasn't getting anything from the sub. I again contacted Skar and they gave me a list of 4 or 5 things to check AND started a warranty claim in case it turned out to be a problem with the amp. Turns out the problem was with me. I didn't have my head unit configured correctly to send sub signal to the amp. I corrected my error and.....wow....this system rocks! ... show more
