This is something I’d rather have and not need than need and not have. We do some road trips and sometimes in middle of nowhere areas or driving over bodies of water for extended periods. While I hope to never use this tool, it is a quality all in one life saving device. We tested the seat belt cutter on some old nylon tie-downs and it worked really well. The tool has limited parts so the risk to not operate as intended or in a split second disaster, I do t have to try to figure out how it works. I did keep mine in the black tray it comes in since it is also the shield for the metal points that are designed to pierce glass. While they are locked in there, it is easy to pop out and the bright orange color helps to quickly locate. ... show more

Fortunately I have not used these yet, neither have the 9 others I gave them too. They look to be nice quality. Im not sure why they come with a holder when in the case you need them, getting it out is a waste of precious seconds needed to survive. This are perfect for any vehicle glove compartment or even first aid kits. Have not used them yet (Thank God) but it makes for peace of mind just having them. I gift these to my family members who are of the “Can’t happen to me” mentality. They are made of sturdy plastic and come in a nice holder which I don’t use. The bright orange color is perfect since in all possibilities these will be used if your vehicle is submerged they are quickly found. Make sure to read the instructions and of course strike the lower corner of the window. The seat belt cutter is pretty sharp and I’m positive can negotiate all seat belts now in inventory. I have added these not only to my vehicle but to my trauma kit. You never know when you might just walk on to an accident where seconds count. I bought this pack of two so I could give one to a friend. I had given my other two away (repeat buyer). This device is one of those things that one hopes one never has to use so it is hard to say how well it will stand up. It is very sturdy and would seem to meet the needs described for breaking a car window, cutting the seat belt, and whatever else might be needed to be done. I do live in an area where drivers are maniacal, where bridges are in danger, and where snow can abound in the winter.
