I used this quite a bit for my puppy to clean up her "accidents". I will tell you, this does NOT "deter" my dog from peeing in the same area again - so that is purely a gimmick. But it does the job to clean up stains and smells good. They need to lower the price however because I'm sure you can find cheaper alternatives that do the same thing for what you pay. ... show more

I use these for my elderly Norwegian Forest Cat. He has CRF and has had a couple of strokes. As a result of his medical issues, he has ceased using the litter box. These work wonderfully over a disposable pet diaper as an extra measure of protection, but I do not believe they would work well on their own - and to the best of my knowledge they're not made to be used by themselves any more than diaper covers for human babies are made to be used without a diaper. How we use these - we don't have carpet, so we aren't too concerned about accidents on the floor. However, my cat is very old and his chronic illness can make him feel unwell and weak at times, so if he's on his bed he can't always get up in time, which messes the bed - and, even worse, messes him. Generally speaking, cats don't like to stink and they definitely don't like lying in their own waste, so we use these to protect him at night and during his afternoon naps. With the diaper as well, the covers do an excellent job of containing the waste - we rarely have to strip his bed and wash his bedding on 'non-cat-laundry' days anymore - and limits the post-potty cleaning I have to do for him to a simple butt bath instead of having to bathe the entire cat. That is exactly what I wanted. It is an awful, horrible, heart-breaking thing to wake up in the morning and see your best friend lying in a puddle of their own waste, too weak to get out of it. While it didn't happen very often, I am so incredibly grateful it doesn't happen at all anymore, thanks to his Fancy Pants (which is what we call these at my house). While the colors seem 'girlie' to me and my cat is a male, he's obviously a very forward-thinking kind of gentlecat. At least he doesn't seem to mind at all that he's wearing pink or purple Fancy Pants. Really, the colors aren't even an issue for me, as these were purchased primarily for practical reasons, with his comfort in mind as a major factor. They do seem to be comfortable enough for him, as he doesn't do the weird "I will stand perfectly still and glare at the wall as hard as I can until these go away" thing he does when I put something on him he really dislikes. Even if he doesn't exactly like his Fancy Pants, they obviously don't bother him, so they get all paws up for comfort. One thing I think you should keep in mind when buying these is that you need to measure your dog or cat to determine the size rather than use the breed guide - and then remember that you'll probably have a diaper in there as well. The diaper doesn't add enough bulk to require a larger size in my cat's case, but if your cat or dog is on or very near the borderline between sizes, you should probably go for the larger size. These did shrink a very tiny bit, but that was only after several washes in hot water, and something I wouldn't have really noticed if it weren't for someone else changing him for me a few times and mentioning the Fancy Pants seemed smaller than when I first got them. So not a lot of shrinkage - at least not that I noticed. Overall these do what they're supposed to do, do it effectively, are apparently comfortable for the cat and have not fallen apart after being repeatedly washed in hot water. We definitely recommend these Fancy Pants as a reasonably priced tool in your kit for dealing with an incontinent dog or cat friend. ... show more

My male cat has been fixed for a while now so he doesn’t smell like a boy cat to other cats. It seems a feral Tom cat took note and sprayed the heck out of my window last night. Haven’t used the product yet. I just now sprayed it on my carpet. I couldn’t use the foaming option like the directions say. The bottle came with some cheap replacement spray nozzle that doesn’t have the foaming option. It also leaks when tilted sideways, which is not a good thing for a bottle that needs to be pointed at the floor. Buyer beware and make sure the correct spray nozzle is sent with your product. Compare it with the product photos on amazon, or the back of the bottle. It should have a swinging open type feature that creates the foam. ... show more

    • You will not find anything better than this product for cat/dog/human odor and stains

have used this for years....2 cats, accidents happen, however when in last stages of life...bigger accidents...and frequent. the carpet was just nasty from their last few weeks of life...and although steam cleaning for the quick initial messes with SSE works after they passed...it was full on get rid of the odor or get new carpet....follow the instructions...blot the fresh stains, and then saturate area with SSE...wait 5 min...I waited over 30 as I really saturated a large area...I then filled my steam cleaner with clean water, added about a cup of SSE to the water, then also filled the deteregent container full strength cleaning purpose....started up machine....did a first pass to suck up any remaining wetness, passed over with the cleaner spraying with the cleaner, let set for 5 min, ran over it to suck up all remaining wetness, making sure I got as much as possible..then placed a oscillating fan on high until it was dry....the carpet went from "reek and stink" especially when warm weather was forcasted...to absolutely no odor, no stains and a carpet that looked brand new...I also use this on my husbands "stinky head sweat hats"....soaking them for a couple of hours or overnight with SSE and then wash and dry....once again no stinky hat...laundry use is essentially same process....for dog bedding use SSE instead of detergent...works great...I have tried all the others....none worked until I found SSE and the rest of the line...worth every penny...and just in case of quick messes I keep a spray bottle full of straight SSE for refreshing mattresses coats etc. don't waste your money on any other products....I generally order 2-3 at a time just to make sure I have some on hand at all times.... ... show more
