Step 2: Peel off the backing paper to the decal, leaving just the decal and the transfer paper. Step 3: Apply the decal to the wall and use the squeegee to flatten to the wall and remove any air pockets. Step 4: Carefully pull back the transfer sheet from the wall, leaving just the decal attached to the wall. Great product. Take your time. I split mine into 3 days. Day 1 I cut out tree. Day 2 I pre taped. Day 3 I put together with no help. My wall is textured so I used craft glue called modge podge and painted it on top of the tree. 3 months later and my tree is great. The tree is placed in my front door entry. While I'm taking this picture my livingroom and couch is behind me. This is the view my guest see sitting on the couch. My guest think it is hand painted. I feel i got my money's worth. ... show more

Purchase the standard size. It took me a few weeks to build up the courage to tackle this project because I had read many comments indicating that it was very time consuming and difficult to install. I wanted to make sure I was able to finish when I started. The whole process took me about 2 hours. The instructions were clear and haveing the numbered diagram was extremely helpful. I started by numbering each piece as indicated. Than i cut out the trunk and put that up, followed by the first sprout of branches for the whole tree, when that was done I cimpleted each branch section by section. I did try to put it up with masking tape first but only git as far as the trunck because it kept falling. Didnt bither with the rest. I also didn't precut the pieces prior to begining I cut them as I went along. And I put up sections at a time before peeling of the proctective film. I did stick on each piece light onto the wall to ensure it was not overlapping an existing piece, once I was satisfied I pressed it on and ised the scraper to eliminate bubbles. I got better at it as I did it longer and finally felt comfortable when I put the last branch up...but it looks good. I did measure the wall and mark the midpoint, this was where I began with the trunk. The rest was pretty much eyeballing it. ... show more

Beautiful and elegant! My husband was completely unamused by the price and effort of putting this up until he saw the final results and all his friends poured in the compliments. Read the reviews....this is not a simple piece to tack on your wall. It takes planning and a lot of effort. Two pairs of hands are better than one (if you get along lol) although not strictly necessary. It is not transferable, so make sure you know where you want it and take the time to put it up the right way. Pros: -Anyone can do it if they read instructions and follow directions and do it patiently. Pro-looking result! Seriously, it's so pretty. -Numbering system is pretty basic and makes sense during construction. -Pieces match up and are uniform in color. -Stunning final result. The material looks like paint from a very short distance away with clean and sharp lines. -In the event of hard to move architecture, the pieces are easy to cut in strategic places and rearrange without being obvious. -A lot of questions revolved around textured walls. I went for it and it's fine. More ripples due to texture. When I walk by it these first few days, I make a point of rubbing along the more bubbly curves. It shows no signs of detachment so far. Cons: -It takes a long time and a lot of planning. You have to be very patient and plan out placements 2 pieces in advance (see below) -The material itself is stretchy and flexible by nature. Just by manipulating the individual sections onto the wall you can stretch or distort its original shape just enough to make the next branch placement an issue. -Can only be tacked onto the wall a couple of times before the adhesive gives out. It's pretty much a once and done deal. Minor rearrangements during placement are ok, but you can tell it gets less sticky with every move. ... show more

Update 04/26/2016: I'm updating the rating of the product as I was able to contact and work with Simple Shapes with relative ease. They asked for photos and descriptions of the problem and determined that the half of the tree that failed me was most likely part of a bad vinyl batch and sent me the replacement pieces I needed to complete the project. It's so nice to work with a company that stands by its products. Thank you Simple Shapes! I hate that i have to write that I don't like this product. I was so happy to purchase this for my wife as a Xmas gift this past Christmas. Took a few months to get the room ready to place the decal, but after cleaning and repainting the wall that it is going on, I'm finally in the middle of installing it. Size wise, this tree is perfect, the layout is perfect, its such a pretty decal... if it only actually stuck to the wall. This vinyl has to have the weakest adhesive of a vinyl I have ever applied to a surface. My walls are not crazy textured, nor are they dirty. I just repainted. It by all accounts should be the prime surface to stick to right now. I have half the tree up, going on without issues, and suddenly I'm on branches 18 - 26, they are just peeling off the wall. Freshly applied not 5 minutes ago (pics attached). I don't know what to even do at this point. I've reached out to Simple Shapes for a possible solution, but am still waiting for a response. I'm thinking at this point maybe to go get some wallpaper adhesive to use on the rest if it continues to peel off the wall. I'm so disappointed and expected this highly rated product to perform better. ... show more

We love this tree! I am so excited to put frames in it over time! We bought the largest one. It was easy enough to install. What took time was that you had to cut around the shapes yourself and there was 5-6 sheets to cut through. I had to work around sections to make them fit and trim some as well but it worked out! It took about 3 hours cut out and put up on the wall. Its lovely. ... show more

Great quality. The compliments are non-stop. It took a few hours to put it on. It would be nice if the 30 pieces were pre-cut. I would suggest you be patient and allow 2 days to complete the project. On day one cut out all the pieces, position and tape them to the wall. On another day finalize the positions and peel the backing and firm paper off. Do not cut too close to the shapes or it will be difficult to peel apart the fine film paper. Make sure your wall is clean or freshly painted or it may not stick well. Time consuming but worth it..... Enjoy! ... show more
