It’s crazy how they can send hybrid mattresses with coils in them vacuum sealed into a relatively tiny package. Now that’s great until you receive the wrong size and almost make a big mistake by opening it. Luckily I realized I received a full instead of a queen before opening it and making a lot of trouble for myself We followed the instructions which were just to unroll it and let it puff up. It said you could sleep on it basically right away but we let it sit out for 24 hours before putting on. We have been using the mattress since the end of February now but the photos were taken the day we put it on the bed frame. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out what kind of mattress was best for us. We used to use a full coil mattress and then switched to memory foam which was the worst thing we could’ve done. I flip around too much in the night and I’m larger so memory foam was not comfortable due to sinking into the foam. It wasn’t great for aches and pains so we decided to try the hybrid and we ended up with this Simmons hybrid. I was excited to have a hybrid because I knew it would be firmer overall but a little soft on top. We most like it, but I have to say now I wish it was a little softer. I maybe should’ve got a thicker mattress but I feel like that might have made it worse (we got 10”). I thought maybe the more we used it the softer it would get but we still haven’t broke it in to where I want it to be yet. I think picking out a Mattress online is just hard to do without testing it out first. We might get a pillow topper to see if that helps with the softness a little. I do notice I can move around a lot more freely at night it’s just surprisingly a little more firm than we would like. Updated: October 27, 2022 - The mattress lasted about a year. Now, even though I rotated it again a few months ago, the padding on top is no longer plush, I can feel the coils underneath and sadly, it's become very uncomfortable. I just sent an email to Simmons to see if anything can be done or if I'm just out the money I spent on this mattress. For most of the year it was a wonderfully comfortable mattress but it's become so painful to sleep on that I'm considering either trying a mattress pad on top or replacing the mattress altogether. Neither option appeals, however. If I get a mattress pad, that makes the height very tall and difficult to get onto. If I replace the mattress, that means I have to haul this very heavy thing out to our dumpster down a set of stairs. With mobility issues, both options are problematic. I'm so disappointed that this mattress didn't last longer than one year that I've reduced the original 5 stars to 3. Waiting to see what Simmons has to say and will update this review. Since it's been just a few days over one year I don't expect them to do anything but thought I'd reach out anyway. February 6, 2022 - Still loving this mattress. I haven't rotated it yet but I'm feeling I should sometime soon-ish. There's nothing wrong with the mattress or how it feels, I just want to make sure it's wearing smooth and evenly. The mattress is still giving me a solid night's sleep, I don't wake up sore or with muscle aches at all. Still loving it! Original review below: This mattress was ordered on Oct. 23, 2021 and I received it on the 26th. Today is November 23rd. Just wanted to put dates on this review for reference as I hope to keep adding things as time goes on. I'm a cross between a Goldilocks and the Princess and the Pea so finding a mattress that's "just right" has been a nightmare. For months on end I read many reviews and did a LOT of research before settling on the 12" Simmons Hybrid Gel Memory Foam (full sized) mattress. Other mattresses were too hard, too squishy, no support, support in all the wrong places, needed a memory foam mattress pad, too hot... you get the picture. This full sized mattress was too heavy for one person to carry to the second floor (76 lbs). My SO and I pushed and pulled it. We decided to take it out of the box in the living room and then moved the sealed plastic wrapped mattress roll into the bedroom where we carefully cut the plastic open. The little letter opener gadget was a nice "gift" inside the box but didn't work well for us, we just used scissors and wee very careful. Within a few minutes the mattress popped up to around 10" tall. Left it in a warm room to expand further. After 6 hours it only expanded another inch and it never did reach the full 12" height but that really doesn't matter. This mattress is so soft! It cradles my shoulder when I sleep on my side, it's comfortable when I'm on my back - you kind of sink a little into the padding but can feel the support under the fluffiness underneath the initial padding. Did I mention the top is extremely soft? So far, I haven't had any issues with it sleeping hot, either. It's just right, and I've been sleeping like a rock since. Getting up in the mornings have become very difficult, which wasn't a thing before because my other, uncomfortable mattresses wouldn't let me sleep well or without pain. The sides/edges do not keep its boxiness when you sit on it but that's not an issue for me. This Simmons lets me sleep without pain in my back or shoulders for the first time in years. I'm so impressed - for now. Since it's only been less than a month, I hope to update this review as time goes by. Color me cautiously optimistic and I hope this mattress continues to give me quality, pain-free sleep for years to come. So far, it's been amazing! ... show more

After having slept on this mattress for about two years I think it is time for a review. I can say that the mattress is was comfortable in the beginning. I am 230 lbs and my wife is maybe a little less. We ordered an adjustable powered base. I have rotated top side foot to head a couple times. I will say that when you incline the head that the mattress has a tendency to bunch at the your butt and lower back. I have had to get up a recline the mattress and beat that bunch back flat which is annoying. My wife has a hard time getting up and down from her side as it does allow you to sink in a bit. I also sit on my side at a rolling side computer table. After a while I notice that I have sunk in so to speak. I have a terrible back condition and can say that I shift a lot. We do not seem to disturb each other and we sleep well. As I have never been on any other mattress than a Simmons for twenty or more years before replacement I have nothing to compare. We did visit a few mattress store before the purchase and I made the decision based on 12 equal payments on Amazon. I did buy a ninety degree plate to keep my pillows from sliding behind, and we do have a 100% cotton cover just to keep it mattress from spills. I will also now tell you that the mattress was covered from day one first by a cover from my old mattress then a new one. You can see from the pictures that it has developed sagging and the fine stitching that was so beautiful is now worn and there appears a stain that I do not know how occurred. I have been in contact with manufacturer support and after many back and forth emails sending pictures, tags on the end of mattress I finally received acknowledgement that they are sending me a new mattress. So now I guess we will throw out the old and put the new in the same place till it starts to sag then I may decide to replace with another brand. ... show more
