  • Amazing guitar for a great price!
A solid top guitar for $170? I expected corners cut, sub-par construction and sound, but - no: great tuners, perfect setup (low action, no buzz, no sharp fret ends), perfect gloss finish, but with great satin neck, very good sound, joy to play. Bought this as a present, first guitar - was having hard time letting it go. I guess if one wants to complain - plastic saddle and nut, but and easy upgrade. Not sure if gloss finish is that thick - sand if off if it is for you. The only small problem mine came with - lower E bridge pin would pop out. Turns out pin's string channel was too narrow for thickest string - scraped it wider with a blade and it took care of the problem. May have been over-wound string anyway. I was so impressed that i bought OOO Sigma for myself - let you know how it goes. ... show more

  • As musician (strings and keys) for over 30 year, I find this guitar to be an exceptional value!
This, for me, is a good couch guitar for informal practice. Visually, it is stunning, well set up, and a joy to play and hear. Sounds superior to many guitars twice its price.

  • Quality is better than expected

Nice sounding playing guitar. Perfect size for in the couch. I'd buy again.

  • Nice woods, playable, but limiting. Perfect for a beginner.
I ended up returning this because the sound is limiting and because I bought new and received an Amazon Warehouse used item, which I normally wouldn't have a problem with, but I couldn't get an appropriate price adjustment (just offered a free return/full refund). I also got a great deal on a Washburn comfort koa mini, which I'd had my eye on for a while and absolutely love and highly recommend. But hopefully by sending the Sigma mini back someone else can benefit from it. Anyway, I also have a Sigma 10D dreadnought, and it's a better guitar; just as great specs, just as playable, but louder, better voiced, with more potential. Maybe if you're just playing for yourself, or just beginning to learn, the mini's sound will be fine, as it has a good "personal" punch and articulation. You'll be tricked into thinking this will sound good to other people! lol But it really doesn't. You might as well be playing a thinline electric unplugged. With a pickup it might be better, but as is, it's really just a practice/travel guitar. Had I kept it, I would've probably installed a pickup (I think a $100 upgrade). The solid top may help in time, but the body's thinness will always hold this guitar back a bit, and you'll eventually want to upgrade. Like the dread, the mini's finish is impressive for this price range. Another reviewer said the sunburst is the best they've seen? I agree. It may look like it darkens to black, but with bright light, or the sun, on it, the border becomes a dark red/burgundy/purple. I tried to provide a pic of it. I don't like the color black on my guitars, so this was really nice to me. I wonder if it will lighten to a cherry sunburst with the years, or if you allow the sun to fade it? The neck feels almost exactly like a short scale 24 fret electric, a bit cramped but playable, with perfectly dressed frets. No sharp edges, no sprouting. They are tinier, vintage style frets, however, which I personally don't find a problem with. My saddle (plastic, not bone, but a high end plastic like Tusq) came cut too low, but initially played very well for the low action before my local humidity started causing issues with that. Since I returned this, I decided not to mess with the truss rod (I had issues with that and the bridge pins on the dread, which are explained in my review of that guitar). The nut (again Tusq-like plastic, not bone) was cut fine. The Grover tuners slid a bit more than on the dread, but held tune well. ... show more

  • The guitar was broken when it arrived.

The guitar was broken, when it arrived! Send a new replacement, well - packed, asap.
Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2024 by The performance, by the composer, is very good, although I think Sviatoslav Richter’s performance is even better. The piece is incredibly difficult to play.

  • Great Value, Nice Guitar
Sadly I had to return this guitar. I knew it was a smaller scale, but the MINI was a little too small for me. Very playable for most, and I should have bought the 000 or the folk in the first place, so my fault. Customer service was great. Now to the good stuff...the neck was a very comfy shape/size, comparable to an electric guitar. Not too thick at about 20MM at the first fret. The sound was a tad boxy as most of these smaller guitars are, but not in a bad way. With a pick, the sound was full and delicious. Surprisingly loud too, and the solid tops get better when they age. I think anyone would be impressed at the quality and sound, and not just 'for the money'. 'For the money' it's outstanding. I'd say the action could have been a little lower, but mostly it's personal preference. I made no adjustments to the one I had, but I would have had to if I kept it. Stayed in tune well. Finally, the sunburst finish was perhaps the best looking I've seen and I've seen a lot of them. This guitar is gorgeous. If you don't know how to play you could hang it on the wall and call it art, it's that sweet looking. ... show more

  • Most bang for the buck in an affordable guitar!
Color: Natural Gloss
The media could not be loaded. I like everything about it. It sounds great, plays great, it's extremely comfortable, and it's beautiful. It punches way above its weight for how affordable it is! This is an amazing deal for a smaller body guitar. I've had trouble finding time to do the video review because every time I pick it up, I start playing and lose track of time. (It's really fun to play) My favorite part though is that I can sit in a regular chair and play guitar! With it's smaller size, I think it would be great for kids, for women who might be uncomfortable with a big dreadnaught, or for people who want an incredible travel guitar. It's perfect! ... show more

  • Very nice travel/mini guitar
Very nice guitar for the price. I needed a smaller acoustic to play in my wheelchair and this guitar was perfect for what I needed. This Guitar has an excellent sound. I played a little Martin guitar and was considering buying one and with this mini Sigma, there is no difference between the two, except for the name. I have a Breedlove acoustic and this Sigma sounds as good as the Breedlove. If Sigma had this guitar in a acoustic/electric I would buy another one in a heartbeat. ... show more
