  • Incredible Lens for Half the Price of the Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM
Recapping my thoughts about this product through some experience with the Sony and Sigma lenses (not a direct scientific test/comparison of image quality, just experience): I recently photographed a wedding with the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM. It was great but heavy, the zoom ring was stiff, however, it was fantastic. Image quality was great, autofocus was pretty solid, and not very many complaints. Enter the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens. I love that this lens is much lighter, the autofocus is incredibly quick, the photos are wonderfully sharp, and the zoom / focus rings are so much easier to move and are way smoother than the Sony GM (the Sigma is also weather-sealed!). The lens hood is a bit awkward but that's just a cosmetic thing that really shouldn't determine whether or not you should save $1,000+ on a lens. For half of the price of the GM, you're saving weight, getting access to a newer lens that isn't 4 years old since its release, and you essentially have the same features that the GM has. The pictures the lens produces are a little warmer, the vignetting is a little more noticeable, and there is some barrel distortion, but all in all, that can be corrected with the settings turned on in the camera and through the lens profile corrections in Lightroom. I was about to purchase the 24-70mm GM before the announcement of this lens and I'm so glad that I waited. Sure, the GM is slight quicker with Autofocus but not by much, but for the money, it doesn't make sense to spend an extra $1,000 on a lens, you could essentially buy another lens in savings + extra gear. I love this lens and am extremely happy with it. If you would like to see an official user review, look up Jared Polin's or Gerald Undone's review of the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E Mount. Both recommend it and have further details about their thoughts on why you should go for this lens. I can attest to all of the positives that they've mentioned in their reviews through personal experience. Sigma really has it dialed in, can't wait to see when the 70-200mm f/2.8 comes out, I've heard it's rumored to be released this year. ... show more

  • A Steal!
I absolutely love this. This is one of my go-to lenses at the moment because of the range. Quality wise I have no complaints. This is a sharp versatile lens that gets the job done and this bundle comes with some pretty good accessories. If you're looking to get this lens you should know that it is on the heavier side and it's not super compact. Personally, I can comprise for the quality and price range but it you want something light weight this may not be for you. ... show more

  • GO TO LENS
I purchased this lens after seeing a 24-70mm lens being used on a Sony camera for end zone shots after touchdowns in NFL games. I do freelance media work and use a ronin R2S gimbal and have used this lens for over a year. This lens stays on my A7iii and is excellent in a variety of use cases. It can be used for close up portraits as well as wide angle openers. The large aperture is consistent throughout, so no need to worry about losing that super dope bokeh when you zoom in. I couldn't be happier with it. The only downside of it is its bulk and weight. So if you are looking for the lightest lens this is not for you. It is has 82mm which is on the large side too. I took this lens to NYC recently and it still produces excellent images and videos. P.S. The extras are kinda useless except for the Altura sensor cleaning kit! (that is definitely worth it) ... show more

  • THIS LENS IS AMAZING ON THE FX9
I've seen a lot of product comparisons with this and the G-Master, but in actual documentary use, it's incredible. The autofocus feature is WONDERFUL and the clarity and contrast of the lens is really beautiful. I also love that it's full frame, and on the FX9, you can use the entire 6K sensor, but also can cheat and make this up to a 105mm lens by changing the crop on the sensor to S35. It also feels really sturdy and the manual focus rang is not super small like a lot of still lenses. It feels like a cine lens in a lot of ways. ... show more

  • Great Sony Camera Lens
If definitely meet my needs. Will surely buy again

  • Amazingly sharp lens, some of the freebies that come with it are lacking.
The lens itself is fantastic. Super sharp and the low light performance is amazing. The freebies that come with the package are lacking. The "air bag" padding is a joke. You can't plug the air padding without most of the air coming out so there's no real padding. The SD card and the cleaning kit/tripod kit are great. Just writing this in case someone had high hopes of the bag, looking for a bag to take their gear with them. ... show more

  • Exactly what it said it was
I feel like this review should be an evaluation of the seller rather than the camera. If you buy the camera you SHOULD know exactly what you are getting into. That said I thought all the stuff included in the bundle seemed a little too good to be true, but this was the fastest shipping so I was willing to take the risk. Happily I was wrong and the seller is giving you EXACTLY what they said. Serial number on the camera confirms this is one of the lenses that was produced after Sigma corrected the production issue that let dust get into the lens on earlier models. A current version of the lens and all the freebies was pretty cool. There are horror stories about shifty retailers out there but Digital Goja proved themselves trustworthy with this purchase. I’ll check their inventory before I buy anywhere else. Everybody likes free stuff :) ... show more
