These aren't terrible binoculars, but I only gave them 4 stars because I honestly can't tell a difference in magnification between these 15x25's and my other pair of 12x25 binoculars. (On the left) The eye pieces are also smaller, which makes them a little less comfortable to use and the material is definitely cheaper. So, they work, and they're not a terrible buy, but they're also not my preferred pair either. ... show more

These mini binoculars are similar in size to some Nikons I have. As you would imagine, there is a sizeable difference in quality. That's to be expected with differences in lens quality and the use of prisms. Of course, the price for these binoculars is much lower. The binoculars offer 15X magnification and a 25mm lens....plenty powerful for most purposes. The binoculars are absolutely generic, which I expected. The binoculars are probably most effective at 150 yards. I saw a street sign I was able to read about that far away with minimal blur. 1000 yards....I don't think so. I tested these in the daylight so I don't know how much light these lenses will gather near dusk. The lenses are independently adjustable for focus, a big plus. The set comes with two lens covers and a lint free wiping cloth. I didn't try the very thin strap. I would say these are perfectly fine for a high school football game or any other sporting event. I wouldn't choose these for bird watching or hunting where the wildlife is very difficult to get within a couple of hundred yards of. Still, reasonable quality and a great starter for kids at the price point. ... show more

These are alright-ish binoculars and a good enough value for the price. But they're not great. It has nothing to do with build quality or material quality -- those are both fine for the price. It has to do with the engineering choices for magnification, objective lens diameter, and eye relief distance. These have very low eye relief, where to get the maximum field-of-view, you've got to take off your eyeglasses and put these things practically up to your eyeball. And even then, the field-of-view isn't great. It's not bad, just not great. So I'd say set your expectations accordingly. If you're out for a day-hike, and want something lightweight to look around at scenery, these are great. If you're trying to look at astronomical objects, nebulae and whatnot, these are bad. Want to look at some birds in your garden? Sure, these are great. You're a professional birder or on a S&R team, yeah, spring for something else. ... show more

The binoculars come with a pouch, a lens cloth, a neck strap, and instructions. The storage pouch is nice, but probably won’t protect your binoculars from bumps or drops. The pouch does have a belt loop on the rear if you want to wear it. It’s a nice addition, but I’ll probably find a hard shell case for mine. The neck strap is thin and if you wear the binoculars for any length of time, you may want to upgrade to a thicker neck strap for your own comfort. For short term use, it is great. I found the instructions to be good for how to focus for your eyes. One thing I would like to see in the instructions is a legend matching the diagram letters to what each piece is called. To me, this just gives the reader a faster way to know what each piece is without reading through the narrative. The binoculars are very clear. Adjusting the focus between close and far images was easy and the clarity was not lost in the adjustment. The binocular hardware moves smoothly for focusing. I will be taking the binoculars along regularly on my short hikes. They are light weight and a great size. Overall, for the price point this is a great set of binoculars and I would recommend to others! ... show more

This is my new favorite addition to my hiking backpack. As a parent, sometimes it’s hard to keep kiddos engaged and having fun. But these binoculars add a whole new dimension to our experience… from looking for wildlife like birds or deer to just to get a close-up look at distant details in the landscape. The kids love them. They are light weight, but work really well. They adjust easily and fit both me and my kids comfortably. And even when daylight starts to fade, these binoculars hold their own pretty well in low-light conditions. Plus, the carry case and extra cleaning cloth are thoughtful touch. ... show more
