these worked perfectly for what I needed. they are probably best for flatweave rugs/carpet--there are other styles better suited to shag, etc. I would not use them on wood. ordered and delivered in less than 24 hours, which was appreciated. I took a star off b/c these are plastic, but that might not be fair-- I'd much prefer glass, but those are difficult to find and costly. I saw that some reviewers complained about the "sharp edges"--um...maybe they used them upside down? yes, the plastic edges are a bit sharp, but the way to use them is to have that side facing up, that lip is useful for tables with casters. ... show more

The tables were an elegant shiny silver and we could not figure out how to raise the height without compromising the look of the table. These casters did the trick. We bought enough so that we could glue them end to end to give us the height we needed as well as appear almost invisible.
