  • A top quality storage cabinet!
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
Pros: 1. This was well packed with plenty of styrofoam and protective plastic. So the parts were received undamaged. 2. The parts seem like they will go together to make a sturdy, attractive storage cabinet 3. Each type of part is clearly numbered with a part number that corresponds with the instructions for assembly, so anyone who can follow directions should be able to assemble this. However, cons: 1. Don't believe anyone who says that this can be assembled in a short period of time. There are so many parts (5 pages of them in the illistrated parts list), that it takes at least an hour just to locate, count, and check off all the parts. Each of the doors is in two parts. Each of the side panels is in two parts. And the back is 5, count 'em 4 panels! Just counting the screws alone, there are: 86 of the #41 screws 8 of the #52 screws 12 of the #42 screws 1 #53 screw 18 #54 screws 16 #17 screws 16 #16 screws 2 #55 screws, plus wall anchors, and 2 #61 screws So the person who answered a question about assembly, saying they put the second one together in 30 minutes was simply... I won't say it. But you know what I'm thinking. 2. At the end of my hour spent in parts inventory, I thought that the #53 screw was missing. That is used to secure the locking rod. I thought the keys to the cabinet were also missing. I rechecked the box and all packages. Definitely no keys or #53 screw. (see update) 3. The box was very big and heavy. This cabinet will be for basement use, and we are aged and use a stair climber to go to the basement. So we had two options for getting it down to the basement. Either use a luggage strap to secure it upright on the seat of our chair climber and lower it remotely, or unpack it, assemble parts of it upstairs, and lower it in assembled pieces for the final assembly on the basement floor. We don't have much floor space down there for assembly, so are opting for the latter. Update: We finally found the mssing keys taped to the door handle recess. I had expected them to be with the other small parts. But I have also read that these cabinets come with a variety of keys, not just one key for all. So that clued me to finally check to see if it was taped to the door with its matching lock. And there it was! We also finally found not one, but two of the #53 screws. When the instructions say to first do an inventory of parts, they don't tell you that far along in the assembly instructions you will find out that the #53 screw is already screwed into the locking rod assembly and you need to temporarily unscrew it in order to fasten the second rod to it. They also don't tell you that a spare #53 screw has been enclosed in the magnet package, marked only #23 for the magnet part. So I was really surprised to finally see this tiny screw clinging to the magnet. Once I had found these parts, assembly was time consuming, but straightforward. The instructions, were good once we had located the keys and #53 screw. I am a 74 yo female with lung and heart problems, so I spaced the assembly out over three days. Hubby was able to hold corners together, and support doors while I fastened them. A second pair of hands is helpful. I unboxed and assembled the door panels and side panels upstairs, and then took parts to the basement for final assembly. That worked better than trying to manoever that huge heavy box down our basement stairs. After all is said and done I am extremely pleased with the design of this cabinet and the way in which it went together to make a high quality, sturdy storage unit. I have recommended my son get one for his garage. He's an engineer, specializing in design of sheet metal enclsures. I know he'd like this. ... show more

  • Excellent cabinet choice for home garage storage but with a “bit” of assembly required.
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
I purchased three of these cabinets for our garage. My experience started off a bit bumpy when FedEx delivered them in three battered boxes. It took 3 hours to assemble the first cabinet starting with the two sides, then adding the top and bottom, followed by the four back panels, bracing and wheels then the doors. Despite other reviews to the contrary, the assembled cabinet is quite sturdy and suitable for my storage purposes. Pros ~ really well engineered almost impossible to put together incorrectly because the screw holes only match up when parts are correctly put together. In this way the cabinet will come very close to automatically “squaring up”. However, checking to see that you have the same diagonal measurements with a tape measure will verify that the cabinet is square. Every part is labeled to indicate where it goes, top, bottom, left or right side. There are lots of screw attachment points that provide rigidity. A magnetic Phillips screwdriver is provided which makes installing short screws easier than it might be otherwise. Not many times that using a cordless drill screwdriver would be helpful because most of the screws are small. Cons: There are aspects of the manual that are easy to overlook especially the screw number required and where it does (or doesn’t) go. All of the screws and other small parts are packaged in cellophane packets and each packet has the correct screw number on it which helps a lot in not misusing screws. The manual could be clearer in “left” or “right” side during assembly. Basically, joining the sides to the top and bottom has the cabinet in an upside down, front to the floor position with the top and the mfg. logo facing the floor and on your right hand side to make it easier to then install the four back panels on what would then be on top of the assembled sides, top and bottom. The position of the bottom panel has to be correct or you will learn that it’s locking holes do not line up with the right side door which contains the lock mechanism,. Verifying that you have all necessary components before starting assembly is smart. Lots of Styrofoam to dispose of too. Each of the cabinets had damaged components from mishandling during shipping. Customer service was however superb. I called to find out how to obtain replacements and was asked to send photos of the damaged parts (mostly doors) and proof of purchase. After that, new parts arrived in about a week. I did all the assembly working alone but having the help of a second person would be wise. Finally, the most numerous screw in the package is a number 41, a short 3/8” screw. It is easy to overuse these screws in holes intended for another size screw so pay careful attention to screw placement, especially on the bottom panel back where the screw holes are intended for the black rubber bumpers which use different screw size. The screws come in a partitioned piece of Styrofoam that I adapted to make separate sections for each screw type but cutting up another piece of Styrofoam to make additional partitions. That way, I could use a marker pen to label each screw size partition and empty the screw packages into the box instead of fishing them out of the Cellophane packets or misplacing a package. The cabinet comes with three metal shelves that were very easy to install. However, I will be ordering additional shelves. It would haven nice if an additional shelf had been included with the package. Also, I bought the cabinets on Amazon but from a third party seller which did not concern me initially because they were returnable and less expensive than the manufacturer’s price. I noticed later after receiving the battered boxes that the mfg. recommended having them shipped by “freight” evidently because of damage issues and that cost may explain the mfg’s higher price. You would soon learning that all of the Styrofoam packing is quite complex making repackaging and returning anything quite difficult. Overall, I am really pleased with the cabinets. ... show more

  • Absolutely love these heavy duty, garage storage cabinets!
Color: Granite Size: 36" W x 18" D x 72" H
These cabinets are great. Very heavy duty. I assembled the first one in two hours. I assembled the other three in an hour and 10 minutes each. Instructions were easy to understand and were perfect. All of the hardware was included and of good quality. I really like the fact that all of the Phillips heads were the same size and there were absolutely no nuts. The wheels are incredibly heavy duty. I was able to clean up my garage and put all of my tools and supplies in 4 cabinets. They are large capacity and can hold some weight. Best purchase I’ve bought online in a long time. I give these cabinets an A+. Very good looking as well. I am not real good at assembling things and these were a breeze. If I could change one thing I would add one additional shelf to the cabinets. Be prepared for tons of leftover packing material. I took quite a load to the dump when I was done. It did keep the shelves and parts well protected so everything arrived in excellent condition. ... show more
