  • Easy to use
Easy to pull out, held safely with straps fot security. The screw of the knob may get loose or fale to hold. If this happens the camera may get stuck or fall, hence the importance of the straps.

  • Comfortable and fits even larger bodies
This vest and side holster fit well, even though I have a larger build. It feels a bit awkward at first, since the vents really only extends down the chest, but that is the only place it is needed. It holds even a fairly heavy setup comfortably in the middle of your chest, so it does not affect your balance much or feel like much of a load. I find that I use the side holster on its own even more often though, because it is secure, easy to attach to a belt, and leaves the camera in easy and natural reach. I was worried that the circular baseplate that slips in the groove might not be secure enough, but discovered rather quickly that the other groove, cut into the baseplate can serve to lock the camera into place in the holster (or vest mount), requiring the user to twist the camera to align the groove with the direction of the holster (the direction you are pulling/up) and pull the camera up, so there is little risk of it slipping. out. The natural angling of the camera (at least with my setup (R7 and 400mm lens)) causes it to tilt in the holster a bit as well, further locking it in. This can be a downside, as it holds the plate firmly in place, so that any movement/rocking as you walk is transferred to the bolt holding the plate to the camera. I fixed this using a bit of the removable loctite (I needed it for my PeakDesign clip as well when using it with a backpack). I was skeptical at the time of purchase and fully prepared to have to return it, but wound up quite happy with the product and looking forward to using it for a long time. I would strongly suggest getting the optional connector with the incorporated Arca-Swiss plate though. ... show more

  • No neck discomfort.
Loved this product after I understand how it worked and its quirks. You must get in the habit of Tightening up the round disk that screws into the base of the camera each time you take the camera out of the harness or before you put it back in. The disk loosens quickly. If not tightened you could lose the round disk or potentially the camera could fall free from the harness (Don’t forget the safety straps). I loved the way it took the weight of the camera off of my neck. I used it for a long trip to Ireland and had it on me every day with a 300mm lens. I recommend this product. ... show more

  • BEWARE - the bolt/screw is defective and puts your camera at HIGH RISK
I was shopping for a sturdy harness and this seemed hard to beat at the price point. I had read one previous reviewer mentioning the bolt/screw that locks in the camera to the harness being janky...but I never would've imagined it would play out as badly as it did. In 13 years of shooting with a DSLR I've never once dropped my camera but this happened TWICE in the span of one week, thanks to the ridiculous bolt/screw that connects your camera to the plastic harness. Yes, even with the protective (backup) harness straps your camera can/will fall to the ground if this bolt comes loose as often as this one did. You can tighten it, thinking it's fine, only to find out it's not. And once it starts loosening it only seems to get worse. It also doesn't snugly fit into the plastic clip on the harness anywhere near as efficiently as it should. At first it seemed great...but very quickly it revealed itself to be a major, major pain. And it will make you paranoid about your camera dropping if you experience what I did. I am extremely careful handling my equipment and was massively disappointed with the inconsistency of this product. It's a shame because in theory it should work great, and it doesn't seem like this would be a tricky thing to improve upon. But be aware in the 'warranty' booklet that comes with the harness there is no contact info/# for Sevenoak. I tracked down a website but again there is no working #, fwiw. My advice is to buy with extreme caution. ... show more

  • Wish I had one sooner
Took this and my camera on a 7 mile hike today. Made hauling my mirrorless Sony camera soooo much easier. I could barely feel it with my backpack and the camera felt very secure. I am a 5'3" woman and it was easy to adjust for a good fit. My 12 year old son said it looked strange, but I thought it looked fine over my tshirt (and I'm picky). ... show more

  • Ripped after 5 uses (2 months)
The media could not be loaded. Seams riped after only 5 uses on easy trails with somewhat lightweight load (7lbs a d500 and 200-500mm), which is well below advertise weight limit (20lbs). Very disappointed!
