Most comfortable mountain bike saddle that I have found that is not too heavy. At 230 pounds I frequently break the saddle when I put weight on it wrong. I think it would be perfect for an more experienced rider or a lighter rider. I'm now on a specialized honeycomb, this saddle is not as comfortable but I haven't broke it yet. ... show more

Title: Disappointing and Uncomfortable: Selle Italia Model X Bike Saddle Review Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) As an avid cyclist, I recently had the unfortunate experience of trying out the Selle Italia Model X Road, MTB, and Gravel Bike Saddle. Regrettably, I found this saddle to be a complete letdown, failing to meet even the most basic expectations of comfort and performance. First and foremost, the saddle's firmness was simply unbearable. It was like sitting on a slab of concrete. The lack of cushioning provided no relief whatsoever, making each ride an agonizing ordeal. Despite trying to adjust the saddle position and tilt, I couldn't find a comfortable sweet spot. Long rides quickly turned into painful struggles, leaving me sore and fatigued. Additionally, the Model X saddle proved to be excessively heavy. When every gram counts in cycling, this saddle added unnecessary weight to my bike setup. It impacted my overall speed and agility, making climbs and accelerations feel more laborious than they should have been. The saddle's heftiness was a constant reminder of its subpar design, further contributing to the overall dissatisfaction with this product. In terms of build quality, the saddle appeared sturdy and well-constructed, but its unsatisfactory comfort overshadowed any potential positives. Despite the durability, it is difficult to justify using a saddle that prioritizes durability over rider comfort. All in all, the Selle Italia Model X Road, MTB, and Gravel Bike Saddle proved to be an unpleasant aftermarket addition to my bike. Its extreme hardness and heaviness compromised the joy of cycling, resulting in discomfort and fatigue. I would strongly discourage fellow cyclists, both men and women, from considering this saddle as a viable option. There are far better alternatives available on the market that prioritize comfort without sacrificing performance. Save yourself the pain and seek out a different saddle that will enhance your riding experience rather than detract from it. ... show more

This saddle is very short, not "Large" as described. I'm not sure it would even be good a kids bike. Also not as soft in the right areas as expected. To be honest, I looked at different cycling reviews on line and ended up picking this. Maybe its me but I don't agree with the qualities noted for this model ... show more

The most uncomfortable saddle. Tough. Brutalizes your sitting bones. Plus the finish doesn't allow you move around easily on the saddle.

    • Sticky cover material does not allow any fabric (tights, shorts) to slide over it.
the material of the cover prevents you from sliding. how was this ever conceived to be a good idea? you cannot slide fore and aft. instead you have to get your seat completely up and out if you wish to sit further back or forward. I put up with it for a year and I should have sent it back right away. i thought i'd give it a try. my verdict: don't. ... show more
