It is stronger than my older units. Two sets of gears(?) instead of one so less likely to slip (and yes, I have had the older ones slip.) Cable is thicker and so less will fit on spool. I used this once and couldn't get the winch to release. The tab bent down rather then release the line. Very disappointing. This was unusable after I tried it for the first time. I used a tree savor to help provide the anchor point and connected to the other side using an extender. Once the cable was tight couldn't release the wenches the release tab on the wench bent instead of coming up. ... show more

Not a word on how to operate this thing. How do you reverse the pull direction to release. No instructions included, or on care or servicing. so still trying to figure it out.
