How can a motor company screw up such a simple design? I got it out on the water went about a 100 yards from shore and the stupid thing started knocking, I pulled the emergency kill switch. Ok, motor arrived with a cracked cover. Bent exhaust guard, as well as a few loose nuts n bolts... I made all needed “corrections”....hit the lake, and 10 minutes later I got the black cloud o’ death and had to row her back to shore. Good luck to you-! I just wanted a lil 4 stroke cruiser for quick trips...got a 4 hour hell of a lesson instead... ... show more

Runs good don’t recommend full speed until a couple hours of use have been reached. Also recommend buyin a cover if near salt as it will rust

Dead on arrival and they didn't even offer replacement. Manuel isn't for the correct model and is barely english. Dont bother.

First off this motor starts on 1-2 pulls every time. Reliable, use 93 octane. Definitely break in first. No oil LEAKS if kept upright, its not designed to be set on its side it will leak on its side. Make sure you have the correct oil level in engine and lower unit. Fill lower unit from bottom pressured up and out the top. Now the bad the manual is TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. IF YOU ORDER THIS MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND BASIC 4 CYCLE OPERATIONS AND HAVE SOME MECHANICAL BACKGROUND. YOU'LL NEED IT. WILL UPATE, had it a whole summer out every weekend out on the water. I PUT IT ON a FLAT BACK CANOE, it HALLS A$$ after ajusting cable and cable stop , 10mph top speed 11mph wind at our backs, Scary in a square stern canoe. Takes 10w40 as per company recommendations. 80w90 lower unit oil. Negative, Engine has Lots of vibration. The muffler came loose and the nuts fell in the water about 15hrs in. But thats an easy fix added new self locking 10mm nuts. Advice use red lock tite on everything when you get it. I still love it can't beat it for the money. Love it. Negative, It is loud. Don't be discouraged by other bad reviews , its great reliable budget motor once you set it up properly, it works perfectly. If you want something better your looking at muko big $$$$ doe. It's reliable I think the other bad reviews didn't break it it or ajust everything properly or DIDN'T add oil properly. Its a Australian lawnmower engine. Motor make is RATO. updated last Jan 1st 2021 I still love it for the dollar. Spend 1800$ on a mercury if you want perfect american made. Yes it needs some minor tickering when it arrives but after that it works flawlessly. NOTE I PAID 420$ DUE A COMPANY DISCOUNT for failing to send me what I ordered in a timely fashion.
