With my system I did have one of the pop filters that were made of a soft material and it wasnโ€™t a great build as eventually they snap and I needed to purchase a new one. With that in mind I did some research and found this pop filter is made of a metal mesh and it is quite sturdy and accurate in the way that you can maneuver it in front of your microphone. I will tell you this there is the occasional popping sounds when you get too close to the microphone as I do have a cardoid site microphone as it picks up every single sound is quite sensitive. If I move back at the right distance it works like a charm and it was quite professional as you can see in the pictures below. This is definitely worth the money if you are serious about pop filters as it does work great, but like I said if you are using this type of microphone they are quite sensitive and will still pick up the occasional popping sounds. Pros: Compared to other mesh pop filters this one has smaller/finer holes, meaning it's slightly harder to see through, but it's also much more sturdy, good since this is how my last mesh filter broke. The edge of the mesh has been deburred and filed down to prevent hurting yourself, which is nice since my other one has really sharp edges that catch my skin frequently. The gooseneck mount is the only issue I have with this pop filter, it's not awful, but could be a bit stiffer, the screw mount is part plastic and cheap feeling, my other filter (no longer available to buy) has an amazing goosneck and mount, so maybe consider swapping those out with an aftermarket one. ... show more

Firstly you can switch around the shields depending on what you want there is a difference, I picked this pop filter to use it with my TLM 107 microphone it is sturdy but not that durable of which itโ€™s not a problem cause you wonโ€™t move it around, great pop filter by sE

    • Very effective at deflecting the air stream

The filter deflects the air passing through at a very high angle, nearly 90 degrees (in the direction away from the mounting neck) so it can be used pretty close to the mic. However, I had a little trouble mounting it. I have a Blue Yeti with Radius III shock mount and Compass boom (all Blue branded), attached with the microphone hanging below the shock mount. The pop filter's clamp can not open far enough to be attached anywhere but the ring of the shock mount, and it was a little difficult to get a stable position, but ultimately it can be done. I give Amazon 1 star for a crappy recommendation engine. I give this product 4 stars because the build is decent and it provides decent isolation. The mesh screen will not filter out pops (you need a foam one for that) but overall, it offers good isolation. This is not designed for the SE X1R Ribbon Microphone. I had to jury-rig it a little to make it work. I am not sure why companies that make mics don't make accessories that are universal, or at least make it really clear that ... show more

This is a well built, fantastic performing condenser mic. Although I'm not convinced I really needed it, I did buy the isolation/pop filter combination. I'm told it improved my sound, etc. I would recommend this mic to anyone who needs a good condenser mic. I can use it for vocals alone, or with guitar/vocals combined, as it is excellent in both situations. ... show more
