  • MUST HAVE!
Color: DM1 - Red
work incredibly well with my SM7B I literally use about 40% or so less gain to reach the same volume as before and very clean noise floor, well worth the purchase

  • Adds 20db of clean gain to my sm58
Color: DM1 - Red
My mixer is a bit noisy so I was looking for a relatively inexpensive way to skip the noise when using my sm58. This device worked very well - just plug in, turn on phantom power, and start raising the gain on the mixer (but nowhere near as much as would have been required without the se dm1). My only quibble is that this device makes xlr connections a bit clumsier, since it's the connector is now a bit heavier and bulkier. That's not a surprise at all since this device is connected inline, but I underestimated how much I would notice this when connected. I also connected this device to a portable recorder and the recorder tips over due to the weight of the se dm1. ... show more

  • Works great with a Shure WH20 and a Pyle XLR to USB adapter
Color: DM1 - Red
A Shure WH20 can work directly with a Pyle XLR to USB (PDUSBPP10) adapter with one caveat: the build-in mic monitor will not work. This is because the monitor taps the mic input before the digitally (software) controlled preamp, and the signal from the WH20 is not enough to be heard via the monitor feature of the Pyle XLR to USB adapter. Without the Dynamite, the Pyle adapter needs to maximize the mic gain (0db) to get a decent recording. With the Dynamite, the digitally controlled preamp only needs to be at -34db to get a very clear input from the WH20. The monitor feature of the Pyle adapter works great. I can put the mic/computer balance right in the middle, and turn the headphone dial at about 8:30 (very low setting) and get a good balance between my own voice via the WH20 and whatever is coming from the computer. The Dynamite itself has no detectable noise or distortion. I am not an audiophile, just a practical person using this set up for Zoom meetings, recorded demonstrations and music listening. I did watch many videos that test and evaluate the Dynamite, I suggest that you do the same before reaching your own conclusion. ... show more

  • It works
Color: DM1 - Red
Simple, effective. Does what is expected --as it should for something that is priced as high as it is. 4 stars for effective sound solution and build. Can't go 5-stars due to price.

  • This is it! It just works for so much less!
Color: DM1 - Red
I've tied the cloud lifter and this product now (3 months of use). I am using the SE1 with a Shure SM7B. The output is clean and noiseless from my use. My signal chain is SM7B > SE1 > Focusrite Clarett 8PRE > Logic Pro. There is no color added through this line preamp. As with anything, you will need to EQ whatever you are micing (in this case vocals). It adds the gain needed to keep the preamp noise low. Love it and it's worth the investment. Additional Pros: Much smaller than other options, sturdy build, portable and sounds great (or actually adds no sound at all :) )! Cons: Wish it came with a carrying case. ... show more

  • SO FAR IT'S 5 STARS
Color: DM1 - Red
The only negative to the D1 isn't really a negative as much as it's an observation. The D1 is long. The fact that you can put it anywhere in the line mitigates that factor though. As to performance, I'm running an ElectroVoice RE20 with it. In a word, perfect. There is no hum, nothing but pure sound from the mic. I also tried it with my Shure SM 7B. Same results, perfect. The D1 does require phantom power so be sure you understand that before buying. Any decent mixer will have phantom power though so it's not a big issue. I have a Behringer Xenyx 1204 USB. It's old, but it still works good for my podcast. I liked the D1 so much for the EV RE20 I bought another one for the Shure SM 7B. Note: Usually I wait awhile to review. I've had the D1 for a few weeks now and I think that's long enough to do a review without any buyer's glee. ... show more

  • Been missing this for my dynamic mic for 6 years
Color: DM1 - Red
Wish i had known this was my issue all along. My heil pr40 had severe noise floor/static, hard to hear often, couldn't compensate with gain without adding severe noise floor. The second I added this my sound was crystal clear, my gain can barely be turned up because its so strong and bold sounding. I've been missing this for so long. It's as if I have a brand new mic after 6 years of all my trouble. I am frustrated I didn't know, but I'm ecstatic that I don't have to replace my mic. This was literally the missing link for my dynamic mic. ... show more

  • This is a MUST
Color: DM1 - Red
Paired this with a SM7B microphone and a GoXLR setup. Despite what you may see on YouTube or hear from someone else this SHOULD be as close to the mic as possible. Mine is hooked up directly to the mic and then to an XLR cable. Please make sure you’re using good cables as well, don’t cut corners when it comes to sound folks. You wouldn’t put spinners on a Ferrari so don’t use crap cables for great equipment. It looks great on stream too and I get people asking about it. Can’t say enough about how this thing has helped my audio! ... show more
