    The quality is quite nice; solid, seems durable, I liked how it looked. The design could be improved where only one side of the handle turns at a time; having the opposite side turn can make the handle hit the frame. It would also have been much easier to install if they provided a template to show where to cut the hole for the pin. The pin was also super long and I had to cut it down to work; if I didn’t have tools for that it would have not worked for me. ... show more

    A right-hand open door is supposed have the handle on the right when you are standing outside a room, or yard, and latch inside. This handle has to be mounted on the left side of the door if the latch is inside. Completely opposite as described. Very nice latch, just can't work for me. I had to return it. ... show more

      • Nice product, a small quirk

    This thing is really nice. For as solid as the design is, it is not truly 'universal', in that it latches 'up' with the door opening inward, and latches 'down' with the door opening outward. Not a big deal, but i would have thought the manufacturers could be clever enough to make it convertible so that it latches the same way for both door orientations. The GL-2 version says it fits doors 3-1/2 wide. This is common for doors or gates made with 2x4s. I would have thought that would be true for the GL-1 version. It's not actually specified for the GL-1, but it doesn't fit a 2x4 width (3.5") without some modifications. I had to put some spacers in the handles so the pin didn't go all the way in. It worked but, for those of you with gates/doors made of 2x4s be aware. I'm glad it worked for me. Like i said, it's a really nice product. ... show more

    Love the design of this modern gate handle. I swapped it in to replace the loop handle our fence builder used. The catch is designed to be mostly hidden on the inside edge of the fence, which might require cutting a 1/4” inset. I ended up just using the existing catch from the prior handle.

      • Child size. Poor quality with awful casting marks.

    This is made of cheap pot metal. The side that faces the gate is a much better quality casting than the side that shows. My product was clearly opened before retaped, and re-mailed. I would not recommend this. Buy something else.
