  • Very nice value for the money, the bass knob works very nice
Size: 2 Channel Style: 90W Color: Gray
Got this installed in my 2008 Toyota Avalon XL after a painstaking process... And it sounds great! I'm using it to power a 750w amp and two 350w subs with my stock head unit. Note, Camrys of this generation have the same wiring colors. Didn't have to adjust the gains for my left or right channels, just tapped into the rear speakers (Left Rear - Yellow with Grey stripes (+) , Black with Grey stripes (-). Right rear - Red with Grey stripes (+), White with Grey stripes (-). I tapped into them on the seat belt column area. I suppose you could do it at the head unit, but I felt safer doing it behind the seatbelt column panel. You can tell they're the speaker wires because they're the only wires intertwined together. The rest of the wires on the harness are not. I used wire taps where you crimp two wires next to each other together with a piece of metal, so I didn't have to cut wires. To get the 12v constant, I simply crimped the wire to a 5A fused line, then crimped it to an extra wire, which I stuck into the "B+" input on my amp, joining it with the power line from the battery. For the ground I did the same thing, routed the wire to the GND input on my amp with the ground wire stuffed in there. The Remote wire actually works very well and for now, has not given me issues. I was relived to not have to route another remote wire from some electrical part of the car, and I could just crimp a wire onto the remote wire from the LOC and connect it to my amp. It only turns the amp on when the radio is on. Perfect. My only fear is if the LOC Remote wire circuit malfunctions for some reason and causes my amp to kill my battery or something. Maybe there's a protection built in for that. Didn't seem to work at first and I thought it might be defective, but I re-did a few connections and it worked! I noticed more bass immediately and knew it wasn't my interior speakers. I connected the bass control knob, which I routed through the interior panels and it works flawlessly! It has a very wide range and is quite sensitive, at least for my set up. Turning it all the way down will essentially turn your sub off, so that's nice for when you need to go incognito! Couldn't be any happier with this. I didn't want to mess around with an aftermarket headunit so I decided to save myself a lot of headache and money. This will do the trick as long as you can tap into the right and left positive and negatives. Of your speakers. ... show more

  • Simple, easy, cheap
Size: 2 Channel Style: 90W Color: Gray
It just does what you need it to do. I used to install a sub+Amp and this took the high signal from the factory sub, and gave me signal, remote, and further adjustment! I've got my new dubs dialed in perfect thanks to this. and the remote is a great touch. Makes it feel much more premium.

  • Perfect for a stock stereo
Size: 2 Channel Style: 90W Color: Gray
I tapped into the speaker wires that have a factory rated 40 watts per channel at 2 ohms. With the gains all the way up I was not getting enough line level voltage to my amp to properly run the subwoofer. The car also has factory woofers and those 2 channels are 70 watts at 4 ohms. With that much power I was able to turn the gains half way and still get the line level voltage needed to run the subwoofer amp properly. So if your factory stereo isn't pretty high power this probably won't work for you. The formula to calculate the approximate voltage you will get to the inputs of the Scosche LOC is the square root of (watts x ohms) so in my case 40w x 2 ohms= 80 square root of 80 = 8.94 volts, not enough even with gains turned all the way up. Using the other more powerful channels 70w x 4 ohms= 280 square root of 280=16.73 volts. I now have the gains half way and plenty of line input power to the amp. I have the amp line level set half way also. With the remote level knob I can listen to music with it 1/4 to 1/3 up and can go all the way up if I just want to push the sub and make loud bass noise. The factory car system is BMW logic 7, 7 channels of 40 watts(mids and tweeters) @ 2 ohms and 2 channels 70 watts @ 4 ohms for the factory 8" woofers. My sub is a 12" Skar Audio IX-12 D2 250 watt rms, dual 2 ohm voice coils with an old Jensen amp that is 200 watts rms. 100 watts per channel @ 2 ohms. I could bridge the amp and series the voice coils but I read that if you have two channels in your amp and 2 voice coils you should just power them individually rather than bridge. ... show more

  • Instructions are to be interpreted, worked perfect!
Size: 2 Channel Style: 90W Color: Gray
Great sound no nosie but the instructions say to use a "constant" 12v. I would only do that on a Daily Driver. For show cars you're gonna wanna find a switched 12v source so your amp turns off when your car does. Seemed well built, east to understand, small enough to hide, and plug and play. Mounted the remote knob to the side of the speaker box hidden in case I want to change it a bit. However I am a electronics tech by trade so for me this was easy to install and use. Cramming my big self in the back of my mustang gt was the hard part. ... show more

  • works but you will need to up the bass in equalizer settings on your radio.
Size: 2 Channel Style: 90W Color: Gray
The knob that comes with this is awesome, it's nice to be able to turn off/down the sub for those songs that it just doesn't quite work with. You will need to turn up the bass settings in your radio if you can. I would also suggest setting your speakers to go to the rear slightly if you can as well(If connected to rear speakers). The converter doesn't do anything to amplify the bass, that's why you need to change the settings. another thing to know is the knob isn't perfectly linear with volume, after the knob is around 1/3 the way turned it's essentially at max volume and I can't really hear a difference after that. (Although this may be other things such as the amp I'm using or the fact that I have the gain turned way up) ... show more

Size: 2 Channel Style: 90W Color: Gray
LOC are a super useful item to add an Amp and subwoofer to your stock stereo system. It allows you to keep a stock look with all the fun of a sub. They arent the easiest thing to install though so make sure you have a wiring diagram for your stereo and test everything before you put it back together. This item fits my model (13 subaru ouback) and works well. ... show more
