I needed a costume for a Halloween party, but didn’t want to pay $100 for some cheaply made getup that would probably look very unflattering, unoriginal, and only be worn once. I also really really wanted to look good. I was newly single, and didn’t know many people at the party. So I was nervous, but I knew if I was really feeling myself it would help me let go of some social anxiety have a much needed good time. That plan totally worked!😁 This dress was definitely the perfect purchase as the foundation for my butterfly costume. I got a ton of compliments on it and people could tell I put a lot of thought into it. But the best part is that I could wear the same dress next year and have it be something completely different if I switch out the accessories… Witch, cat, a bat, corpse bride, etc. It’s so comfortable, super flattering (especially if you’re looking to hide the tummy) and completely versatile! It goes with literally everything - boots, pumps, flats, loafers. Since the party, I’ve been able to wear it to the office as well as a wake. I’m currently keeping my eyes out for any New Year’s Eve events that could be fun. It’s kind of become my “reclaiming myself” piece. It can totally be dressed down too, and if I wanted to pair it with a jean jacket, it would definitely work for lunch or something like that. Depending on how you accessorize, it’s appropriate for most all occasions, and the fact that it’s a dress just makes it look like you put a little extra effort into it. This dress is very pretty and flattering, however, I wish there was a little stretch to it. It looks really great on, but I noticed it pulls at the back when I sit, which is a pet peeve of mine. I have larger breasts, and it makes them look great without showing off too much cleavage. The length is about mid-calf (I’m 5’6). I think the only other thing I wasn’t too thrilled about was that the sleeves were about 1/2 inch too short. ... show more

I dislike my arms, and am always looking for something with a little bit more coverage there so the sleeves were wonderful here. The fit is super flattering for anyone above average size. The V neck is fairly deep so can be worn without an undershirt for a sexy look, or with a cami/tank for a bit more professional look. It is a light, not heavy material. It is not sheer. I’m 5’7 with a DD chest and have wider shoulders. I was nervous that my true size (2x) would not fit because of my shoulders. However, I went with my true size (2xl) and the dress fits just right! It’s really open/deep in the chest area, but a safety pin can do the job. It sits right above my knees, length wise. It might be too short for some. I love this dress, it’s comfortable and light weight, the color is stunning. My issues are: •There’s no like.. lining in it if that makes sense? Most dresses I’ve seen have that extra line that’s kind of like a slip so it’s not see thru. It’s not too bad, I can deal with it, but just be aware • The top is VERY deep. I’m on the medium chested size and there’s a lot of room, which I did see in the reviews. I’ll have to figure out how to keep it from opening up • The synching at the waist is a little higher than expected, it kinda sits more like under boob area for me. I did read that in a review as well, but again, I can deal with it because it’s not that bad. • The belt is a little awkward, I might swap it out for a different one Overall, 4/5 stars, it’s more than I expected and I can deal with the little things!
