It has rooted hair ( a little less would be perfect) not glued on and a weighted bottom. Very nice features. I wish there was an option for open eyes. But, babies sleep most of the time anyway. For starters I think I was expecting an actual reborn doll. I guess I didn’t think that one through very well. The doll is not terrible but it also isn’t terrific, in my opinion. The cons: The hair line on her four head is so weird and if the headband pops off you can very clearly see how widely spaced the “hair clusters” are. It literally looks like the doll got surgical hair implants like a bald man would. The hair also falls out fairly easy. I didn’t even brush the hair, just a quick run through with my fingers to try and mask the weird hairline..but the hairs just fell right out with barely any friction. I am definitely not a fan of the color either. It’s almost like the doll looks too purple and bruised up in certain spots. When I gifted it to my daughter, aged 3, she looked at it with a side eye and then looked back at me ..because it’s looks strange. The pictures truly can’t capture it. The price is also a downside. It’s pretty expensive for the quality that is offered. The pros: The stitching seems to be done very well. Although we haven’t had the doll for a long time, it’s held up against six young kids so far! I also like the weight. It’s definitely heavier than a babydoll you would buy from your local supermarket. I’m sure that is to make it more lifelike. The outfit is soft and super cute and has working snaps as well! And I thought the bottle was a nice touch too. Overall I’d say 7 out of 10. ... show more

There's quite a few variations and designs of the "Reborn Baby Dolls" and they each have their own defined qualities and characteristics that stand out above the rest. This little gem features a life like head, both front and back, with hair that appears more realistic to a human's hair than any other I've seen. It's slightly shaggy and a bit unruly in places, with hair follicles emerging from the scalp that perfectly replicate those of an infant. The face presents facial traits that are remarkably detailed, capturing the delicate and realistic essence of a newborn. Her eyes are slightly sunken, adding depth and realism to her expression, with lifelike eyeballs that seem to stare back at you, creating an uncanny sense of connection and lifelike presence. Her nose subtly protrudes from her face, with a soft natural slope that mimics a real newborn. This soft prominence adds dimension and enhances the overall realism of her facial structure. The pouty lips add an extra element of charm to her adorableness, making her even more endearing. Her facial skin is constructed with soft silicone and showcases variations in color, with natural undertones and subtle shading. Her delicate complexion and lifelike expressions add depth and realism to her appearance. While her features are beautifully detailed, the overall feel is somewhat lacking in quality. Her head and limbs are hollow and can be compressed, which diminishes the realism and makes her less like a true human baby. The arms & hands of this doll—and in particular, the face—are extremely life-like, because these visible parts are molded out of a flesh-colored silicone. The doll’s head is further enhanced to a level of surprising realism by the painstaking attachment of INDIVIDUALLY inserted strands of hair! The well-done face, especially with its blue eyes, makes this a strikingly realistic baby doll. Almost creepy, in a way. And, it also FEELS like a real baby when carried, because the body underneath the baby clothes is made of a soft, cloth-like material—instead of a hard, rubbery silicone—and is stuffed with enough foam(?) to make it feel as though you have an actual infant in your arms. Take off the baby clothes, however, and the sight of a cloth-covered torso with head and appendages attached is immediately disconcerting, which tends to kill the illusion. So, keep its clothes on! The total weight also seems to be a tad light for a real baby of that size, but is not really something that would be obvious. In addition to possibly being helpful in acclimating a jealous four-year old to the impending arrival of their new sibling, this kind of doll is supposed to be very useful in helping calm down agitated dementia patients. I will be donating my doll to a local hospital that has a dementia ward, and check in with them occasionally to see how well it does there. ... show more
