Let's be real here, at this price you are not getting the same build quality as a metal machine. ...but that's okay! This is great to give to the little ones; a fun and easy way to get them to save up their coins. I have mine sitting on a coffee table for my niece and nephews to use when they visit. They get a treat, and I get any loose coins picked up! I'll leave you with two tips I've found; First if your kids are particularly sneaky, they'll try to take coins out of the bottom and reuse them for free gum, this is easily fixed with a piece or two of tape (the bottom doesn't lock, really. It just twists on/off) And lastly, if they use different size coins it may jam up the machine. Coins smaller than a quarter and smaller -will- work, but the machine needs to be flat when they turn the handle, it's picky ... show more

This was a purchase for my four-year-old daughter. It is plastic which is fine for her. It did come with a small pack of gumballs which you can see in the dispenser so I didn’t have to run out and buy gum-balls today. Have only used with coins. Any coin works!

I bought this for when my grandsons come over. I have M&Ms in it. The only issue that I have is cleaning it. When it arrived, of course, I had to wash it, but only the lid and the bottom are removable. The top has too small of an opening to hand wash. It's about what you figure. Plastic, and small. My 3 year old was obsessed with it. Didn't come with many gum balls. But I like that it requires coins to work. Cute idea.
