I haven't yet had much of an opportunity to try out the dome, but from what I've seen thus far, it is exactly as described (I purchased the 4m, 3-ring version). Even though I purchased the smallest 4m model, the inflated dome is actually quite large: in my height-restricted setting (9 foot ceilings), the dome just barely has enough clearance; the diameter (including the rings), meanwhile, is also quite large, requiring at least 15 feet (obviously, the entrance requires some additional space). The 4m dome works well for my somewhat cramped (for a planetarium) requirements, but I wouldn't be able to accommodate any of the larger options. I've only been able to inflate the dome in a room that's currently under construction, and doesn't have any lighting (yet). That being the case, I haven't been able to verify that the exterior of the dome is truly light-blocking, but when I spot-checked a few sections of the dome exterior with a flashlight, I couldn't observe any light bleeding through. Based on the uniformity of the dome exterior, I don't anticipate any surprises regarding bleed-through, but again, I haven't been able to truly verify that point. Regarding the dome interior, the projection surface seems to be quite good for the price, though I haven't yet been able to thoroughly test it. There are no obvious seams when projected upon, and the point at which all dome sections converge is nicely masked. I attempted to capture some spherical mirror projections using Stellarium, but my setup wasn't quite correct (resulting in some distortions), and I don't yet have a first-surface mirror to use (there are multiple ghost-images that make the projections appear somewhat blurry). These artifacts are a consequence of my current projection setup, though, and do not suggest a limitation with the dome, which seems to perform fairly well. Finally, I would note that I do appreciate the heightened spring line that the rings enable; once I correct the projection setup, it will be nice to have an area (roughly 3 feet high) below the projected horizon for seating. Overall, the dome appears to be a great purchase, especially given the price. I'll admit that I had some reservations about making the purchase, especially after seeing attempts to conceal obvious deficiencies by other vendors offering similar products; fortunately, my anecdotal experience with SayOk has been quite good, and they appear to have delivered -- exactly as advertised -- an affordable, well-made inflatable planetarium dome. ... show more
