  • Great addition for your saw
Easy to install and works great.

  • Yes need this for dust collecting
We bought a SawSstop table saw last Christmas and didn't order the collection panel. After using the table saw a few times, we knew we needed something to help with dust control. WOW, it really made a difference! It was easy to install and the panel allows easy access to hook up the shopvac to collect the dust. Highly recommend getting this panel. ... show more

  • Works Well
High quality just like the saw. Easy to install and well made.

  • Nice addition.
This is a nice add on to the saw. Went on without issue. The hose connects perfectly. Not a necessity - just a nice to have - you could connect a dust collection hose directly, but this just tidy's things up.

  • Easy to install and hose fits securely
The saw's exhaust port is awkward to attach a longer hose between it and the vacuum system, so this accessory helps a lot. Highly recommended

  • Dust port is not 4"
Dust port is not 4". The OD is 3.875". This makes it impossible to work with the 4" fittings already in our shop. Notified Sawstop who offered a refund. They later reneged and instead emailed and made excuses saying "the dust port has a draft, and the max. diameter is 3.90" and the minimal diameter is 3.84", which falls in line with the 3.875" (3 7/8) that you measured". That is NOT what is in the technical specifications, manual or product video. Not to mention the overhead dust collection work pitifully anyway. Do not buy this panel, or the overarm dust collection. It's overprices, works poorly and is a recipe for frustration. ... show more

  • Easy to install and well made, but falls short in many areas
Although this is well made, I am only giving it three stars because of four issues. First, the only reason I purchased it was because the so-called standard 4 inch port on the sawstop contractor saw is, in fact, not standard: it is is slightly oval and also positioned in a location that is difficult to get to. When I first assembled my saw, I tried to connect the saw to my dust extractor using my hose that has an adapter with a handle that perfectly fits over the standard 4" ports on my Jet bandsaw, Powermatic jointer, and Dewalt planer. It wouldn't fit on the Sawstop for two reasons: the sawstop dust port was oval, not round, and the angle of the dust port combined with its position next to one of the stand support beams would not have allowed my hose adapter to slide on anyway. Second, if sawstop is going to use a nonstandard dust port, they should include this panel with the saw. Third, even with a floor standing dust extractor this panel actually seems to do very little to cut down on dust. As I make through cuts I am pelted by sawdust and the air gets filled by it. Fourth, this panel places the dust port on the back of the saw, but that is exactly where I need to place my outfeed stand, which makes it difficult to position. So after spending over $50 dollars to correct a poorly designed dust extraction port on the sawstop, I now have a saw that has ineffective dust extraction. A bit of online searching reveals that I can improve the dust extraction (some say by a little and some say by a lot) by adding a $140 dust extraction blade guard and $200 overarm dust collection assembly. I feel that Sawstop is really being misleading here: they market the saw as a safe saw, but dust extraction is a huge part of safety too and should come as part of the saw. To upgrade the saw to actually get decent extraction, I am now going to have to pay over $400 more than what I paid for the saw! I'm used to Festool tools which come out of the box with amazing dust extraction. I expected the same from Sawstop. ... show more
