Sawgrass Virtuoso systems are the industry’s first and only fully integrated desktop solution designed specifically for sublimation. The perfect printer for hobbyists or moonlighter, the SG500 fits comfortably on a desktop and prints media up to 8.5" x 14". Or expand the max media size to 8.5" x 51" with the bypass tray. The SG500 has been updated inside out from its predecessor, the SG400. The SG500 is backwards-compatible with all SG400 accessories. Like all Sawgrass printers, the SG500 performs its own automatic maintenance cycle for trouble-free printing. Decorate a wide variety of products made from polyester fabrics or polymer-coated rigid media including: Aluminum Panels and Inserts, Hardboard and Wood Plaques, Tile, Mugs, Acrylic, Glass, Slate, Polyester Fabric, and Reinforced Fiberglass Plastic. Textiles need to be 65%+ polyester, can not sublimate onto dark fabrics. Make sure to use sublimation blanks when transferring to hard goods!

    • Magenta won't print
When I first used the printer it worked fine. I ran out of the starter ink and bought new ink making sure I purchased the correct ink. Following instructions, I replaced the ink. When I printed, the Magenta would not show up. I called Sawgrass and tried to work with them to fix the problem. I was given instructions as to what to do about the problem. It was recommended that I do a head flush and cleaning. I have done a flush 6 times and cleaned the print heads at least 5 times. It still does not work. In the meantime, I am using up all my expensive ink trying to get it working. It seems that there is a problem with the printer and instead of them trying to fix the printer, I am being told to do the same things over and over again. I am sorry I listened to the reviews because I am truly disappointed. I do remember one of the demonstrators telling me to keep the box just in case I had to return the printer. That should have been a red flag. I did, however keep the box, but was told by Sawgrass that any returns had to be done by the company I purchased it from. I feel as if I am just not going to get this printer to work. What a waste!!!! ... show more

    • Easy to use
This printer is easy to use. I debated on which sublimation printer to purchase and decided to splurge and buy the sawgrass. The support it comes with and the design studio were the reason I picked this printer. One negative thing I would like to point out is that the ink that came with it was seemingly almost empty. We will have to replace this fairly quickly and for the price of the printer it would be nice for it to come with full ink cartridges. I read the details in regards to the ink provided with the printer, it stated you would be able to print up to 200+ pictures!! This is not true!! I printed 4 pictures not even the size of 8 x 11 and it will no longer allow me to print due to NO ink. For the price of this printer I think you wont be losing any profit by including standard ink cartridges!! A little disappointed!! ... show more

    • Nice printer but buy a lot of extra ink
I bought this printer to replace an Epson printer. It was a pain to set up and use a special print app on your computer. Finally after setting up with little to no instructions ( lots of YouTube help). I got it to print. IT came out great. After just one print the ink was low. I managed to get 2 more prints out of it and now the ink is mostly gone and I can't get it to connect to my computer. To replace ink with sawgrass brand, and keep my warranty, it looks like a minimum of $300 for 31 mL. Which is 11 more than I got with my printer. I am starting to regret my decision to buy this brand. I am in a lot of money and haven't seen a lot of return for myself. ... show more

    • Wow is all I have to say
I ordered this printer looking forward to make my own shirts at home. After looking at everything I picked this one. Wow I was so wrong. For starters the start ink they sent me would not print. They sent me 2 of the 4 inks and tried to fixed it that way. After buying my own ink, because of lack of customer service from sawgrass still not working. Sawgrass told me to purge the head, takes about 10% of the ink. Getting one shirt to print that was nice enough to give as a gift. You have to leave it on, that makes sense keep the ink fresh, but it burned up all the ink with in a week. Asking for my money back has gotten me nowhere. I asked about the 2 year warranty, they said they already done what they can do. I asked if this was a piece of #$@$ they said yes and there is nothing they can do about it. ... show more
