  • Also works with Idylis pitchers
I found that these filters also work with Idylis pitchers. This matters since I can't find Idylis filters, anymore.

I don't know what the negative reviews are for. We Have extremely hard water and these work exactly like a Brita filter the instructions to soak are exactly like Brita the water is not grey metallic or weird tasting, yes they have a band around them to make a seal it worked perfectly with my Brita filter there is no leaking. I only bought three to test them but I will be using these from now on in my opinion they are just as good as the Brita filters and a cheaper alternative. Some people say they filter slowly and they will if you don't follow the soaking instructions some say they filter fast I think they run a little faster than a new Brita but so what if they are doing the job, and don't you think if they were not there would be far more negative reviews Pur user seem to be giving1 star reviews so perhaps there is an issue there I don't know. Bottom line is we have used Brita for over 20 years and always used their filters from now on we will be using these. The only thing I found is that my old style filter change indicator does not fit the top of these but that is what calendars are for. This is not a paid review but a genuine observation from a long time Brita filter user. ... show more

  • Sapphire vs Brita, video explained
So I have tried both filters. I think Brita tasted just a little bit better. Filtering times varied for Sapphire. New it was about the same as Brita. After a while the 2nd filter in the pack got Really slow. Like the video Grace posted. I like to investigate before giving up on something or reporting negative reviews. It gets suction locked! (This has happened twice now.) I'm a nurse and this will happen with catheters too and they won't drain. I lifted the filter up, pop, put it back in and problem solved. Drained normally again. I did notice on my 3rd filter that after about a month or so it started filtering pretty fast. So it would seem filters differ a little even within the same product. I'm gonna try a few more Brita filters to see if this is also the case as I only use the one that originally came with the pitcher. Anyhow hope this helps. I still think it's a good product and much better than tap water. I also feel taking the excess minerals out hydrates my body much better :) . ... show more

  • Doesn't quite get there..
I'm not unhappy with the Sapphire replacement filters (I use them in a Brita classic pitcher), because they're a very good value. But I thought it might be helpful to mention that I really doubt these are filtering as well as original Brita filters. I live in San Diego, and our water is some of the worst-tasting anywhere, because it's got quite a lot of dissolved salts in it. The Sapphire replacement filters are noticeably inferior for improving the taste of the water when compared to Brita. The water does taste much better than from the tap, yes-- but it isn't exactly great-tasting, either. Brita's genuine filters actually render a very clean and sweet water, almost like bottled water. Thought you'd all like to know. 8-2-2020 I have an update to my review of this product. I noticed in my recent order that the filter cartridges are far from filled with activated carbon, and there is some other kind of material mixed in with the charcoal-- it looks like sand. I don't know if it's sand, but it looks like sand, and it's not activated carbon (or charcoal). This is concerning to me. It does appear that these filter cartridges are being diluted or compromised. I can't test the material, of course, but there's so little activated carbon inside the sealed canister that it seems obvious to me that the product is a trick. I'm going to refrain from buying this product again, and I thought everyone should be warned. I have nothing at all against Chinese people themselves, but, as we all know, many products that come from China are of suspect quality and actually fraudulent often enough. ... show more
