I’m giving this 5 stars, even though it’s not super rain/water proof, I don’t know that it was marketed as such. If rating as a rain jacket, I’d have to give it more like 2 stars, because it’s really NOT waterproof! I bought this jacket for a trip abroad to London and Paris, and it honestly was perfect for that! It was warm enough that the cold breeze was kept out and honestly did a great job against the wind, but also not too warm that it doesn’t work for a nice spring/summer nights/fall jacket! It also looks and feels like a much more expensive jacket, and is super cute! Definitely recommend, but not if the main purpose is as a rain jacket - we got poured on in Brighton, and even with an umbrella, this just seemed to soak up every little bit of water and with no dryer accessible, stayed pretty wet for the next two days when all we had was our air bnb to hang it up in for drying off! But definitely would recommend for everything else!!! ... show more

What I seek in a outerwear depends on durable zipper and snap closure for on-and-off ease and protection. I'm 5'5" , weigh 150# and have a small frame with a 38 C bust. Based on others' reviews, I bought a size M, which leaves room to layer a sweater. The sleeves are a bit long on my short arms, though they could be easily turned up or hemmed. Had I gone with the suggested size L, the shoulder seams would sag. (If you are petite, perhaps refer to others' reviews.) The length comes to my upper thigh, so there would be little coverage in a downpour. The adjustable cord inside the jacket did not provide much of a flattering fit; however; I have a 30" waist. The style is more anorak than trench, and utilitarian more than fashionable. I chose khaki, and it's a taupe hue rather than camel tan or beige. I was surprised by the lining material's feeling like a soft flannel, creating a cozy layer on damp, chilly days. Uses for travel or casual wear are accurate. Choice of clothing and accessories could elevate the look as the material and structure of the jacket belie its inexpensive price. I typically wear a medium and ordered in my usual size but fit more loosely than I prefer even with the option of the drawstrings. I really liked the jacket and for the price it seemed to be pretty well made so I returned the med and ordered a small. The small fit perfect but unfortunately came with a damaged snap so I have to return it as well and is why I'm only giving 4 stars. I really like the jacket but now have to decide if I want to reorder a replacement since I'm concerned about the item coming damaged. ... show more

Very great quality jacket and I love how it fits and looks on me. This jacket will be perfect for the fall and maybe early spring, at least here in Michigan. The fabric is very thick for a jacket. Sizing is pretty accurate I say. I’m 5’6 tall and 205 Ibs. Usually wear XL size for coats, but I went with a 2XL to have extra space in case I want to wear bulky sweaters underneath. Bought this jacket for a trip to the UK in June and it was perfect for a light chill and rain. Compresses down to next-to-nothing, so very good for a light packer, and I got compliments whenever I wore it. The inside drawstring is a little high (closer to the bra band area), but it still gives you a bit of a nip in the waist. I highly recommend it--great value for the money! ... show more

After hunting online for a decent looking rain jacket and ordering and returning various jackets from Nordstrom Rack, Macys etc, I decided to get this one from Amazon - I was a bit apprehensive at first coz I've never ventured to order a jacket from Amazon. The jacket arrived well packed. Looks good. Has some weight to it but it is not overly hot. It sits well on me and will work well for slightly chilly temps too since it has some weight to it. I am liking it so far. The only small critique I have is the the hood just about covers my head ( which is a normal size) so maybe these were made for really small heads with standard size bodies (? lol). Bought this jacket specifically for my Japan trip because I knew it was going to rain and got it in Khaki medium to match my outfits. The jacket looks so cute, it matched with my outfits so well. I kept getting compliments on my jacket from friends and family members. I liked how there is a string to tie the waist to give it a more hourglass shape, although, the string did end up falling out of the jacket during my japan trip. As for its use in the rain, it didnt really do a good job of keeping me dry after heavy rain, I was still a little wet and moist under the jacket. Its also light so its not super warm in the rain. Overall I think its a really cute jacket but not really rainproof so I wouldn't recommend wearing the jacket without using an umbrella too. I would suggest wearing the jacket over a sweater and use an umbrella for those cold and wet rainy days. ... show more
