They do, however it's too difficult for them to do by themselves. The pieces have to be held together at the correct, and sometimes difficult, angle to get the plastic screws in. It's easy enough to build and came with extra plastic screws in case you lose some. It's something you need to build together with a child, not easy enough to build on their own. They toys themselves are not durable and playing with them even briefly will loosen the screws. Just something to keep in mind when thinking of the child you're giving it to. There are some reviews saying they didn't receive all the pieces or they got two of one piece. Because of this I opened mine as soon as I got it and checked all the pieces Because it's gonna be a Christmas gift. All pieces were there and it seems like it's gonna be a hit with my 5 year old son. There are a few small pieces so if your child still puts stuff in there mouth you might wanna becareful with it. Overall I'm very happy with it and can't wait till Christmas morning to see my little man light up :) ... show more

Dinos are fun and cool but bad instructions and pieces still come apart even if screwed together (specifically the Dino feet). We used the manual screw driver as the battery operated one was dead on arrival.
