  • Easy to use, remarkable results
I got this for a saddle leather belt that has gotten soaked in sweat too many times. I haven't tried it on that yet because I got sidetracked by my other with a pair of thrift store leather All Stars. The attached pics are before treatment, after treatment while the second shoe (right) was still wet, and an hour or so post treatment when they're not completely dry, but pretty close. Using the product was a breeze. I was using a plastic placemat, so I put the tin on a piece of rubber to keep it from sliding around. I also had a shallow container of water that I dipped the brush in as needed. One thing I noticed and appreciated was that the soap does not wash off in the water. I did start by wetting the brush, but it didn't matter if I wet the brush first or brushed up some soap first - the soap clung to the brush even when I dipped it in the water. It was even pretty clingy once it had been worked into a lather. By the time I was done with both shoes, the water wasn't remotely sudsy. The brush was a good size for getting into all of the corners of the shoes, and the bristles are a good length for that as well. The soap lathered very well but also wiped off very cleanly. I used the included cloth to wipe off the suds. I could really tell that I was lifting off dirt when I was working around the soles because the dirty soapy water was evident on the newly brightened soles (generic magic eraser for that, btw). Overall, I am very happy with how this project went, and I'm looking forward to treating the belt. I'm also looking for more thrift store shoes to rejuvenate. haha. ... show more

  • A Leather Cleaning Kit Comes To My Rescue!
During a move, my snake boots were unexpectedly stashed in our new, somewhat dank, cellar. Moving has a tendency to make things disappear, and it took a couple of years to get around to organizing downstairs, thus finally finding the boots. (They were in two different parts of the room.) I was glad to find them, but appalled to find them covered with a thick coat of mould. While I was searching for the best approach to restore the boots, I came across this kit. It had everything I needed to make them usable again. A largish tin of saddle soap, a nice applicator brush and a good microfiber towel to finish up. The set of instructions was adequate for me, someone who’s never done this, to use the tools to bring my boots back to good condition. I found it simple to work up a lather, apply it, and polish the boots to finish the process. I tried it on the Kevlar panels, and it worked reasonable well on the leather under the panels. Even though I couldn’t wipe the foam off under the panels, it quickly dried and can’t be seen. These are working boots, so they’ll never get back to new, but they are now in better condition than they were before they got lost. I’m very happy I found this little kit. Once I empty the can of soap and wear out the tools, I shall look for another one. ... show more

  • Great product
Ive used this saddle soap for my horse tack as well as some leather boots I’ve had for years. I am highly impressed with how well this stuff works. I highly recommend it for any of your leather needs.

  • Good leather cleaner
This is a good leather cleaner. Saddle soap works great for cleaning and conditioning leather in one step. I do prefer dedicated leather conditioners to condition leather but this is great when I want to save time.

  • Cleans Well
I like the way this saddle soap cleaned my old boots. I like that it comes with the soap, brush, and cloth, but I wish mine came with an applicator too. The directions say to swirl to generate a lather with a damp cloth but I never got a lather or suds. It was more like an oil application. Maybe I didn’t have it damp enough? It was easy to use, but I did a lot of swirling to try and get the lather, so that was a bit annoying. I think the pictures speak for themselves- definitely functions well. It gave a clean look free from dirt. It seemed to dry quickly. My boots were really old and hard, so it’s hard to judge if it left them softer, but I think oil will handle the element of softness. Overall it works well and left my boots clean. ... show more

  • Nice leather cleaner and conditioner
This is a nice leather cleaner and conditioner made of natural ingredients (castille soap with beeswax and lanolin). I used these to clean up some leather boots and they look almost as good as new. The kit comes with a nice wooden brush and a thick microfiber towel. Instructions are very straightforward: just wet the brush, work it into the soap until it lathers up, and then start applying to the leather in circular motions. Wipe off with the microfiber when finished. I'm glad this cleaner also conditions the leather so I can keep my nice leather boots in good shape for many years. ... show more
