I purchased a S'well water bottle several years ago and it worked well. I wasn't the primary user of it, but had enough experience to appreciate its value and functionality. My Yeti bottles outperformed it, though, so I stuck with and have continued to use them daily. The color of this new bottle is what first grabbed my attention. I liked the dark black / Onyx color, and had a bag that needed a more narrow water bottle than my 18 oz Yeti Rambler. Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the actual color, which while close to the picture on the internet, it looks so much better in person. Next, I love the textured coating on the bottle! It is soft and velvety-like, yet very tactile and slip resistant. The bottle fits perfectly in my newest crossbody pack, and the dark color blends right in. I haven't had any issues with it slipping or falling out, which speaks to the quality of both the bag and the bottle. The cap is a new design for me that I am not sold on, yet. It is better than having to deal with a straw, and more convenient than having to unscrew a bottle top, but the mechanics and water output are still taking some getting used to. I like that I don'[t have to worry about my ice sliding out and choking me, but I feel like it takes me longer to get the same amount of water out as with my Yeti's. I was also concerned that the top would get bumped all the time and pressed in so that I had water constantly leaking me, but it hasn't occurred a single time so far. Finally, although it holds just 17 oz, it does a phenomenal job at keeping the liquids ice cold, even when I have been outside in the heat for many hours. The bottle itself does not seem to heat up, and the contents inside stay icy and cold. I am very impressed with this new S'well bottle, and I never thought I would say that. For the times when I just need the smaller volume of water, this will be my 'go-to', but for the times when I need more water, I will stick with my Yeti's of various larger sizes. Overall I love this water bottle. It's very well built and sturdy, and I love the textured feel of it so it doesn't slip out of my hands. It seems to resist scratching well, and is the perfect size for my cars cup holder compared to some other options that are just too big so portability is excellent. Performance is excellent to keep my water cool with ice for at least half the day. I often still have ice when refilling it at night. The only single issue and complaint that I have, however, is that the cap is a cheap plastic and not metal, so it can scratch or break with use and doesn't feel that great on the lips compared to what it could have been if it had been stainless steel. ... show more

It is stainless steel so yes it is easy to clean! I used this for several long car drives over a holiday week and really like that moisture does not condense on the outside and that it helped me avoid the purchase of bottled water as I could just refill this from the filtered water in the soda dispenser in the gas station. I love S'well bottles and this one lives up to the name. It does a great job of keeping cold drinks cold which I really like. It's also supposed to keep hot drinks hot but I don't really use it for that. The pattern is very pretty and almost like a watercolor type of effect. The cap is very different than any of the others in that you can just flip it and snap it shut. It's much quicker and more convenient than the standard screw top cap, although you can sip it that way as well. ... show more

I had a swell a few years ago and I liked almost everything about it but the lid, if I wanted to take a drink I had to unscrew it, and who has time for that so when I saw their new lid I figured I would give them another chance. It arrived packaged just fine with no defects that I could see. Getting it out you get the bottle and the flipper lid. The bottle was as good as they always are, it does say to handwash so that can be a little tough with how it's shaped but a bottle brush got right in there to get it clean. The lid is the star as now instead of having to unscrew it you just flip it open to take a drink then flip it back to close it. I turned it upside down with water in it and not a drop spilled. This isn't my first water bottle made by S'well, but it's the first with this kind of lid. S'well makes great bottles. They hold cold water without ice for ever. I like to keep one by the bed at night for fresh cold water throughout the night and in the morning its still ice cold. And this one is no different. I am really loving the new lid. It does take a lot of pressure to open and close. It's hard for my 5yo to close on his own. But It is nice being able to take a drink without having to remove the whole lid, and you know it's sealed tight. ... show more

This is a nice sports water bottle. I wanted something that was easy to keep open without having the top be removed for when I am going on bike rides or whatnot. I don't do outdoor rides this time of year so haven't used it for biking yet, but tried it out around the house and I think it's pretty nice. It opens and closes easily with just one finger. It is a nice size, and I like that the outside of this black one has some texture to it to make it feel grippy. ... show more
