I've been using it daily for 2 months now, and it's amazing at keeping liquids hot - I haven't specifically tested how long it could keep something hot, but when I keep hot tea by my bed to sip as I'm going to bed, it's still hot in the morning. My only complaint is that it's a bit awkward to hold in my hold because of how wide it is and it doesn't fit into my car's cup holders. This isn't usually a problem because I'll just throw it into my lunchbox. Also, it's leakproof, but make sure you test it by holding it upside-down first since it can leak if you didn't close it properly. The mug looks nice and no reason to question how long they say it will keep warm drinks warm and cold drinks cold. There is no flip top or opening on the lid/cap. You have to unscrew the cap to drink out of it, then screw the cap back on if you want to maintain the beverage temp. When the cap is removed, the opening is 2 3/8 inches across. Try drinking out of that when driving, or even riding in a car. This is going back. It feels good in the hand and has some definite weight to it. And, no, the teak is not wood. ... show more

This is almost too good at it’s job. I packed tea to go to yoga but actually still couldn’t drink it on the way home IT WAS SOO HOT. So it definitely keeps things pretty hot for at least six hours, but almost too hot, I’ve had to add cold water to tea or keep cap off to cool

It does keep my coffee hot for maybe I don't know maybe 6 hours and then it's warm for additional 4 more hours. I wouldn't recommend using the optional travel cap they sell even though it makes it easy to drink while you're driving the car it significantly decreases how long it keeps your coffee hot. ... show more

Use to take coffee on way to work. Eventually spent more on handle for easy hold and new lid that would allow drinking while driving. I know this is a lot and at first was not happy with how much it has cost me in total. However, its holding up so far, the quality seems really good, and very easy to clean, so no reason to put in dishwasher. It warned against doing so anyway.
