Description

S&S Diesel Motorsport, the creator of the original Disaster Prevention Kit for the 6.7 Power Stroke, is at it again with a much-improved second generation kit. Since its debut in 2016, the original S&S 6.7L Power Stroke CP4 Bypass Kit (Disaster Prevention Kit) has safeguarded thousands of injectors from CP4 debris. In fact, it works so well that it has been copied by multiple opportunists within the aftermarket. Being a company founded by fuel system engineers, S&S Diesel Motorsport has the ability, and responsibility, to offer the best solutions to fuel system problems. While the original bypass kit offers really good protection from a CP4 failure, the last four years have given the S&S engineers plenty of time to discover and eliminate potential problems. The S&S Diesel Motorsport Gen2.1 6.7L Power Stroke CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit features all quick connect lines that will eliminate the need for cutting the factory supply line, which is a debris introduction point, especially if the cut is not thoroughly deburred. It also eliminates the need to use a compression fitting, which is a potential leak point. The OE-style quick connect lines also eliminate any threaded joints that are further leak points and have the potential of generating debris during install. The main task of both kits is to supply the CP4 case and the metering unit/plungers independently with clean, filtered fuel, and to reroute case fuel back to the tank. There are two major improvements in how the Gen2.1 kit accomplishes it. The Gen2.1 fuel supply is split off into two separate lines 25 inches from the CP4, which will eliminate the chance of contaminated case fuel back-feeding into the clean fuel supply line. The original Disaster Prevention Kit splits off within an inch of the pump, and is more susceptible to debris back- feeding, if the CP4 failure produces enough debris to clog the fuel return system. The other improvement is what happens to the debris when it exits the pump case. The Gen2.1 kit features a billet return filter head that accepts a readily-available Donaldson P550943 spin-on fuel filter which prevents debris from reaching the tank, fuel lines, and supply pump. Previously, unfortunate victims of a CP4 failure, with the good fortune of having an original Disaster Prevention Kit installed, would still need to drop the tank and deal with all of the debris created by the failed CP4. One would think that major improvements would come at a major price increase. Having a clear understanding of common rail diesel fuel systems, and decades of OE engineering experience, enabled the engineers at S&S to make improvements without increasing production costs. Thanks to efficient design and use of material, the S&S Diesel Motorsport Gen2.1 6.7L Power Stroke CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit (CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1) delivers much more value than the original, for an affordable price of $400.00 USD. There’s no longer a need to distinguish what year the truck was made, the new Gen2.1 Disaster Prevention Kit will fit 2011 and up Ford Super Duty pickup trucks with the 6.7 Power Stroke Diesel engine. For those looking to improve the debris management of their first-generation Disaster Prevention Kit, the S&S Gen2.1 Fuel Return Filter Assembly (CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1-RFA) can be purchased separately for $160.00 USD.

  • Good kit, fairly easy installation
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
It took me several hours to install, with a lot of crouching under the hood. If you do your own work and have a few extra bucks, invest in a topside creeper. My knees and back got sore kneeling on the radiator and battery doing the install. Btw, Thoroughbred Diesel on YouTube has a comprehensive and excellent video installing this very kit which I watched before beginning. ... show more

  • Great kit
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
This kit is very well made with excellent quality parts. Only time will tell if it actually works and hopefully I don't have to find out. If you have limited mechanic skills, this kit is not for you. It does require a fairly extensive disassembly of the air intake and fuel intake systems. This is not a one hour job if you are not a regular diesel mechanic. If you are a do-it yourselfer, plan to spend all day working on this project if not longer and you will need very specific tools. ... show more

  • F250-2017 good solution
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
For 2017 F250 search for image of intake cover and look at bolt positions so you know how many you need to remove from each side. The instructions say 15 but you need to realize there are 4 on each side in back, 2 on each side in the middle and 3 easy ones in front plus a couple for the dipstick tubes. Once you see all the diesel carbon build-up, you'll want an egr delete. The kit is 5 stars for craftsmanship, instructions and packaging. For sure spend 200 on a topside creeper ahead of time for this project. ... show more

  • Great product!
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
Well worth the money to know my 50 grand truck won’t cost me 12-15 grand to fix when the cp4 goes out.

  • 6.7 DPK
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
Was a complete kit from S&S and shipping was quick with prime. Everything was in the kit needed to install. I have had it on for a few months now and it is working well and leak free. There is a slight noise can be heard sometimes from idle and when letting off the accelerator, it started after install. Seems to either be fuel going through the extra filter or fittings causing the noise. It is not from vibration as I have checked all the lines multiple times and never had the noise before installing. Over all is still a good kit that will hopefully do its job in the event of a pump failure. ... show more

  • A MUST HAVE for anyone that owns a 6.7L Powerstroke
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
Do yourself a favor and install thus kit if you own a 6.7L powerstroke. Ordered the kit and it arrived 2 days later. Very well packaged and very good Instructions came with it. S&S also has a video for installation instructions that makes it nice for installing the kit. You will need a set of small metric sockets and various ¼in drive extensions and swivels to be able to reach the rear intake bolts. (6ea) if I remember correctly.(8mm) Works best to have a buddy help hold things out of the way while taking things apart. Also have compressed air to blow off any trash or debris in the valley of the engine when you get to that point. Brake wash to clean areas and also be sure to clean out your intakes while you have it off. ... show more

  • Nice kit 2011 f350
Model: CP4-6.7F-BP-G2.1
Installed it myself in about 5 hours. If I did it again 3 to 4 Not really a technical challenge more of witch combination of tools to reach hard to get bolts. The kit is really nice all the fittings were perfect fit. Seemed a little over priced but what insurance isn’t.. Watched a iTunes video that helped. ... show more
