May 2020 Update - The countertop is just now starting to need (slight) touch ups around the sink itself. We had to postpone the remodel until this summer, and this counter has held up like a champ. I couldn't be happier with this product! This paint can be a little tricky to work with until you get the hang of how it applies, my suggestion would be to test it out on a scrap or something prior to applying. Once I had it, this product was a breeze to work with. We recently purchased a new home, and we're not gutting our main bathroom until next summer, and I just couldn't live with that 1980's green another day. So, after reading a lot of tutorials, I decided to go for it and paint the counter. I LOVE how it came out! Once it was dry for 24 hours, I applied several coats of poly and let it sit for 72 hours before I let the counter go back into normal use. It's held up like a dream. I wouldn't use any heavy chemicals on it (but I wouldn't advise those period), but otherwise zero issues with it. (I had done this previously with a different color by a different brand and the outcome was similar, it held up like brand new for several months of daily abuse before I decided to repaint because I didn't really like the color). I think this will easily hold up until we remodel, and it looks great too. DEFINITELY better than that 80's green! Side Note: I see a lot of negative reviews on this product because it doesn't hold up for people outdoors. USE A SEALANT. Don't blame a product if you don't use it correctly. I am the paint queen. I love any type of paint. This worked wonderfully to cover up those outdated countertops in a 1970’s kitchen in a house we recently purchased. I also painted the floor (BEHR patio and floor paint), spray painted the cabinet knobs (2x Rustoleum), and spray painted all appliances (rustoleum appliance spray paint) See attached pictures. I used 3 cans total to cover two small counters and the sink counter. I did not add any primer to the counters, I did not sand my counters. I just cleaned it with regular dish soap and water. I let it dry for 30 minutes and then I sprayed 2 layers of this stuff. After the first layer I waited 6 hours to spray again. That was it. ... show more

Love this! I used it to redo my kitchen counters. It was my base then I covered it with epoxy. Not waterproof on it own. Love the new look, my counters look like granite! Great price great product.

I will try to make a long story short...I bought a very large fake rock to use as a baffle and cover for an ugly, noisy outdoor drain.....the rock came and while it had a very interesting finish, it was too light in color and stuck out like a sore thumb in my rear garden over this large drain. I was going to send it back to the supplier until I learned that the cost to ship was $114.00 per UPS. Soooo, going to Plan B, I thought maybe I could darken the finish and color without making it look worse or even more fake. Using Amazon, I was able to search for more paint and surface finishes than I knew existed. Chose this paint after reading the specs although I didn't know if the color I chose was going to look good until I actually used it. I spent just about 15 minutes, lightly spraying this fake rock and the effect is fantastic. My fake rock is now my favorite pet rock and now looks like a grey/brown granite boulder with a grainy, textured finish this paint provides. Almost does look real now....Very pleased....I highly recommend this paint product. ... show more

Had never used paint like this. It dispenses nice and I found it easy to get a great-looking result with it. Applied to the side of a jukebox where I had just done repair to the wood with Bondo, and sprayed with primer first. The primer showed just how poor my sanding job was, and I wondered what this would look like, but it covered all that to where it couldn't be seen. After laying down a coat and looking at it, there were just a couple spots I wanted to re-hit to fill in areas where the black speckles were less populated, and it was easy. Didn't make a spotty mess with that, and the outcome was a very uniform and professional-looking surface. Just DON'T clear it when you're done. Leave it flat. Attempting to clearcoat the job will leave disappointing results. I did, and it looked splotchy like a wet parking lot. Even after using three cans of clear on a three foot by four foot area. I purchased this spray paint for a slightly unconventional reason. We have horrible old laminate counters. They were stained, scratched, dinged and dented. I hated them! I wanted to replace them, but it just wasn't in the budget yet. As a temporary solution, we used this spray paint to fix them up. We sealed them for a better durability, and I can't express enough just how much I love how it's turned out! The paint applies with a strong texture, and pretty color variations. It looks like stone! It covers really great (we did our entire kitchen with just 5 cans of paint). Make sure to cover everything VERY well, the over spray on this paint was surprisingly impressive. You'll need nice ventilation too, the smell is very strong. It held up to some light sanding to even out the texture a little, and took the sealer really well. So far, especially with the sealer, it's holding up really great! The perfect temporary solution to making awful counters bearable! ... show more

Great product, easy to use. The only issue is this is a TOP COAT product and does not offer a lot of color. It's best to paint your surface first, then use this on top. However it also works GREAT to add texture under any color paint which is what I did. I was repaitning a vase which was a very dark brown, I sprayed this first and it didn't cover the brown very well. So after it dried I painted the entire thing white. The texture showed up underneath perfectly, so you can use this to create texture with any color paint! It also doesn't smell like spray paint, it has a very mild smell which is nice. ... show more
