Size: Z Fold 5 Case with HD Screen Color: Black
Well what can you say. The fold is two phones on top of each other when folded. Add a case that will protect it and you have a very fancy brick. I measure about .75" thick with this case closed. It feels like I have armor on my phone now. Like I have a construction grade tuxedo on my very expensive gadget. That being said the case is nice quality and fits well with adhesive points to make sure it stays put. I have had no issues with the case staying on. It has fairly raised bezels on the front face of the phone and around the camera (the camera really feels like it needs this). I purchased the black faux leather. The biggest surprise is the hinge cover. The way it works is novel, and in my opinion, quite functional. It behaves kind of like a book end when the fold is opened partially or fully. This gives a grip point for holding in one hand (which is no simple task if you are lying in bed with it fully opened otherwise). The texture of the hinge cover also feels nice when it is in closed mode to grip. It is important I think to note that the hinge cover is the bulkiest aspect of the case and is not a removable piece at first glance. If you think you would drop your phone then you have that peace of mind. If you don't you should consider if the added bulk is needed for you. I am accepting that I now carry a 5lb personal defense device in my pocket from the future. The phone will not lay flat in this case open or closed (not that you are likely using your phone flush flat on a table on a regular basis). Either the book end hinge cover will leave it angled up when fully open or the stand area on the back will prop the phone a bit when closed on a flat surface. It is not a big deal but perhaps worth a note. The hinge cover does give it a nice small angle boost if you are going to prop it in half open on a surface for whatever reason like a laptop. The stand is very solid feeling and the correct length for the phone being so tall to stay stable. It can only be used when the phone is turned horizontal (opened or closed) which is the way you would likely use it to watch content anyways if you were to set it somewhere. This type of stand may not work best on anything other than a solid surface. Lastly a note on the built in screen protector: The protector seems nice, is clear, and touch works without issue. It does not seem to be oleophobic. Neither does anything about this phone without the case. Furthermore it is not recommended an inner screen protector be used, so glossy is just another part of the experience. If you don't like to ever see any smudges or shine this screen protector is not going to be checking that box. I plan on just cleaning the phone a little more often. Overall it feels smooth in the hand, functional, and decently grippy. It makes an already large phone feel ever so larger, but that comes with the territory. I spent countless hours watching and reading reviews for a Fold 5 case. My priority? Protection and functionality. I work hard in harsh environments and my phone's take a beating. I would've paid the close to $100.00 price wanted by the big name companies to protect this expensive and inherently fragile phone but too many negative reviews. The reviews seemed genuine for this Ruky phone case and were mostly positive. I took a chance on a lesser known company and the price was right! Directions are clear, easy to install, large raised edge around screen, screen protector, gripy, I like the hinge protection design. Seen where other hinges fell apart internally (metal return springs in hinge mount) and scratched the phone. This case has a great hinge design IMO. 3 rubber hinges with felt stops. Hinge protector does not flop around and when the phone is closed you wouldn't know this was a hinged case. Phone feels great in the hand. Kick stand gets the job done. Great balance of size and protection. Only time will tell if this case will hold up? I will update my review if a problem occurs. ... show more

    • Finally A Case I Like
Size: Z Fold 5 Case with HD Screen Color: Black
This is my 2nd ZFold and this is by far the best case out of 5 (including the one Verizon sells specifically for the ZFolds). First, I liked that I didn't have to purchase a screen protector for the outside since the shell includes protection. Second, I like that the case adds minimal size to the phone but still feels sturdy. The case's texture makes it easy to grip the phone when closed and the hinge protector adds "gripability" to the phone while it is open. The hinge protector can open while the phone is closed but not easily (which is good). It also does not make the phone seesaw if you lay it flat while open. What seals it for me though is that the kickstand (which can be used with the phone open or closed) is really sturdy. It doesn't fold like a lawn chair if you touch the screen nor does the phone easily tip over during its use. The only CON is that the kickstand does get rather heated during the phone's extended use. Overall though, it is the best case I've purchased for the money. UPDATE: Everytime I drop my phone, the case cracks somewhere rendering it unusable. I'm on my 3rd case in less than a year. ... show more

Sturdy protective case. I opted for the cheaper graphite version. It has a nice texture and color. Fits my Samsung galaxy z fold 5 phone in a snug manner The kickstand is well placed.... my last case from a different company was located on the long edge of the case and I broke it on 2 cases so I was looking for a better design. Just received today so time will tell. As other reviews stated, you could spend a lot more at the phone store and not get a better case. ... show more

    • More protection, less function
Size: Z Fold 5 Case with HD Screen Color: Carbon Fiber
The case is sturdy and the hinge protection works well. This will definitely do its job of protecting your phone. I've dropped my a couple of times and there have been no issues. The kickstand and the hinge cover also make good fidgets, but I don't think that's a part of the design so I'm not suggesting it. ;) That said, the fact that you can't wirelessly charge the phone without removing the case (which is partially held on with adhesive) is not ideal. I feel like the kickstand is the problem there, which is frustrating b/c I don't think the kickstand adds much to the phone since you can open it to 90 degrees and watch on half of the big screen and that will usually suffice (for me anyway). I've also had the front screen protector part of the case shift on me slightly and I've had to reset it. Overall good case, but could be improved. ... show more
