The shag rug was not very thick and the bottom showed through the weave. Amazon would not pay for the return shipping. I took it Fed Ex and it cost more to ship back than the actual cost of the rug. I ended up donating it to charity. Not a good buying experience.

Rug is a bit shaggier than I expected, not a bad thing. This isn't a luxury rug, it's thinly threaded, meaning in some tiny spots you can actually see the backing, and the backing isn't soft on the feet; however, I expect those things for a $90 rug; it came in the color I wanted, I had a rather flat rug I was replacing, I just plunked my new rug over the old one for a softer step. The cost is low and so is the quality. It feels like super cheap carpet to bare feet. I guess I was expecting 70s shag that was somewhat silky. The backing has no grip so enjoy the slip and slide. The worst part is that the back is black or dark grey and since the pile is thin and low, it shows right through! The only positive is that the rug I purchased was a 3’ x 3’ which is hard to find. The media could not be loaded. I was hesitant due to the reviews BUT they definitely improved in quality. My rug was cut correctly and I didn’t see a lot of spaces; it was well covered. No chemical smell I ordered the 9x12
