This paint seems to react well with floetrol,silicone and other acrylic paints to produce the desired effects for acrylic paint pouring ( cells & lacing )..pigmentation is also very nice

Very good paint for the price. Obviously it's not professional paint, but they also have an expert series if you want that. I bought this because out of all the (studio, beginner, studio, standard) series paint this is one of the cheapest sets. It comes with the 3 primary colors, yellow, cyan, and magenta. Think about a printer, these are the colors you want. Yellow, blue, and red work for darker colors but good luck trying to get purple shades out of that. I emailed the company and +++ is a lightfastness of 100+ years. So all of these colors except the yellow is good. The yellow ++, can be anywhere from 25-100 years. Compare this to castle art supplies and US. art supply paint which is probably good for 3 years. The arteza paint was very sketchy because the (+) symbols didn't seem to match the paint, like the Pink being a lightfast of +, which is supposed to be good? This is a well established company. So if your looking for a good primary beginner set this is the obvious winner and by far the cheapest. You might be able to find liquitex for the same price if there is a sale going but this was on sale so I decided to try it. I like it. ... show more

Exactly what it should be. They are the actual and true primaries. Cyan, magenta and a true primary yellow. I think a great many people believe red and blue are primaries. They aren't. From magenta, cyan and a mid yellow any color can be made. Which makes this a great set. I wanted a heavy body acrylic. That is what I typed into the search. I didn't read the description. So when I got this I was pleased that they were the true primaries but a little bummed that they weren't heavy body. HOWEVER, with that being said, these aren't water and bland. They work great. Also, a little hint: if you do need them to be more thick, opaque, heavy, etc just add a bit of corn starch. It'll thicken and opaque it right up for you. Without chalkiness and without lightening. So really, with that tip, one is able to get the best of both worlds with this paint. Absolutely would recommend and Absolutely will purchase again. ... show more

I like to do acrylic paint pours and DIY projects. I have about 250 paints at this point and by far Amsterdam has been my favorite for binding and making tight lines it is really pretty after it’s vanished or resined! It makes an awesome cell activator if you do bloom pours or swipes it is phenomenal! I started with this set and bought about 40 more colors. If you use a lot of certain colors though go for the next size up in single colors. They last awhile and If you are looking for paints to create your own colors they are awesome to mix with the same brand or others or floetrol paint extender or for Dutch pours you can add lots of water and they still keep the opacity very nicely!!! ... show more
