I replaced a really low quality, pretty gross and tiny bar sink with this and it feels like such a huge upgrade!! The size is definitely only for use as a prep sink or wet bar - it's not large enough to be your primary kitchen sink. The finish is beautiful. It's labeled as "black" but it is actually "black stainless steel" - which is more gray than black (and definitely not a match to all the "matte black" faucets that are very popular and easy to find nowadays). This "black stainless steel" finish is sometimes also called "gunmetal gray" or "graphite" if you're looking for matching hardware and accessories. It comes with a brushed stainless steel drain but I chose to spend a little bit extra and bought a black stainless steel drain to match the sink and faucet for a more minimalist look. This is definitely not anything that's required - the drain that it comes with appears to also be very good quality with a nice finish, I just wanted a slightly different look. I attached a photo of it with both the drain that it came with vs the dark one I purchased separately. The steel is noticeably thicker and better quality than my old sink. It is NOT flimsy and feels (and looks) expensive and sturdy. The thickness, along with the special coating on the underside and the rubber pads truly do help this sink make a lot less noise than my old, thin one. This sink is by our craft/project area so it's used as more than just a wet bar. This is a great working size - larger than the old one which was way too small for our purposes. I used a grinder first to cut through the tile and the grout, and then a reciprocating saw to cut through the 1.5" of plywood under that. It was surprisingly easy and very satisfying. I plan on doing more to makeover this space, like a special counter coating to cover up the existing tile, but this sink is a great start to upgrade my space. It not only already looks better but is already so much more functional for us. So far the finish appears to be durable, and it's very smooth and easy to wipe down. But I've had it for less than a week - I will update if there wind up being any issues with that further down the road. Overall I'm very pleased and would definitely recommend it! ... show more
