Description

The ROUSH Axle-Back Mustang Exhaust Kit with Round Tips, designed to fit the 2011-2014 Mustang GT and 2011-2012 Mustang GT500, is an innovative exhaust system from ROUSH that features an open-chambered designed muffler (as opposed to conventional fiberglass-packing). The result is an aggressive sound that is unique to ROUSH, increased longevity (with no fiberglass packing), and increased horsepower and with additional airflow. Another added benefit of this system is the lack of the in-cockpit boom normally found with performance exhaust systems at cruising speeds. Not only does this system sound awesome, it looks great too. The round tips are made from high-quality 304 stainless steel and are finished with a chrome flashing process, and are embossed with the ROUSH logo on the end. This will let people know your Mustang roars, and lets them know you mean business. Conventional chrome plating uses layers of bonded chemicals to achieve its shiny appearance, which are susceptible to cracking and flaking especially when exposed to high temperatures (like exhaust produces). However, the chrome flashing used in this system is bonded micro-porously to the metal surface, and is as a result impervious to cracking from localized damage. This method of chroming is also resistant to heat color change. This exhaust kit mounts to the factory mounting points, and includes all necessary hardware and instructions. This makes for easy installation to get you back on the road in no time.

  • Great Product
Sound of this exhaust is excellent and aggressive. My car finally sounds the way a 400+ HP car should. I listened to many video clips of different exhausts. This one definitely had best sound for the buck (with no drone). I am very happy with it. Its loud when you want it to be (but not too loud) and quiet enough when you are coasting. Installation took longer than expected on my 2011 Mustang GT. Most comments on web said about 1 hour. Took me 2 1/2 hours. I followed the instructions, but could not slide out the mid-pipe (muffler support bracket bottomed out when sliding back, limiting travel). I ended up loosening the mid-pipe clamp, and then the clamp near the muffler. Was able to remove right side muffler with no problem (little elbow grease). Left side I had to actually remove the muffler hanging bracket (only 3 bolts). Installation was much easier. This would have been a major PITA if I didn't have a hoist. I look forward every time to starting up my car now. :) UPDATE: 2.5 Years later Still loving this exhaust. No issues and sounding great. Beware, if you buy this you may get a lot of random people throwing the love for the beautiful sounds your car makes! :) ... show more

  • Great kit, amazing sound, no drone
Installed these on my 2014 GT, and I'm so glad that I did. The stock exhaust was a little too quiet for me, but my main concern was going louder without going too loud. The Roush kit definitely meets that criteria, by delivering amazing sound while in the throttle, but quieting down when cruising. I've taken quite a few road trips in the car, and there's been no drone to speak of, which is a huge plus. Installation was incredibly easy, with the most difficult part revolving around taking the old mufflers off of the existing hangers, but even that just takes some wiggling and some muscle. If you're on the fence about this kit, just do it, you won't regret it. ... show more

  • Very pleased with sound.
Install was a little bit of a pain. Everything fits great and product is great, it's just awkward getting new exhaust onto the 2 hangers that are towards front of car. I left the mid pipes untouched and just pushed them up and out of the way with one hand while I used other hand to place into hangers. Drivers side I unbolted and swung upright sway bar bracket out of the way, but that doesn't work on passenger side. On passenger side I just unbolted the hangers (bottom bolt only), bent down to where I needed to get exhaust on, and bolted back up with exhaust in the hangers. Hope that helps someone. Install took a little over 2 hours, but I could do it in 1 now. Exhaust sounds great. Very pleased with it. Mellow when you're mellow, but loud when you mash the throttle. Quiet when you need it, loud when you want it. Very healthy sound. I have no other exhaust mods besides these. I think any other exhaust mods would ruin the sound. Stand alone, these are fantastic though and would recommend. These are loud, but not overly loud, at all. ... show more

  • Roush 2011 Mustang GT Exhaust
Purchased from Amazon/Northcoast Performance. Free shipping got it to me several days sooner than projected date. Price was lower than from Roush directly. Installed in about two hours with a little effort, but overall relative simply. Instructions called for removal of mid-pipe, didn't really need to do, simply jacked the car up on one side, unbolted old mufflers and slid from hangars. Installation was a little trickier, but installed with a little gyration - alignment of tips was fairly straightforward. Sound upon start up was exactly like the you tube videos available. However, actual on the road sound is AWESOME. If you've ever seen Steve McQueen in Bullitt (if you have a Stang, I'm sure you have) it sounds exactly like that. Little sound at cruise, downshift and gas and KABOOM the Stang roar. You'll have an eargasm (sorry, stole from someone but liked the term). You will be happy with these! ... show more

  • The Roush exhaust system arrived in excellent condition, well protected in its shipping box
The Roush exhaust system arrived in excellent condition, well protected in its shipping box. Installation was straight forward and completed in about an hour. The most difficult portion of the installation was removal of the OEM system. The sound of the Roush system really wakes up the exhaust note of my 2014 GT Premium convertible Coyote engine. I experience no interior drone sound and the system looks great on the car. A side benefit of the Roush system is a reduction of over half the weight of the OEM system. I am pleased with the Roush system and would recommend the system to those who want to wake up the exhaust sound of their Coyote. ... show more

  • Purrfect sound, easy installation.
I've had Dynomax and Flowmaster 40s in the past but these really BARK!!! I love the sound. Under wide open throttle they are very loud, but are very quiet at cruise and no drone on the highway. I have a 2013 Mustang 5.0 convertible which is not as quiet on the road as a coupe but the exhaust is still fine at highway speed. They were VERY easy to install. The whole job took less than an hour doing it on jack stands on the garage floor. Two people would have been helpful to get the old mufflers out of the hangers, but it can be done without help. Also need to loosen and move the panhard rod. All easy though. ... show more

  • Worth every penny.
I've had these axle backs on my 2013 5.0 for a little over a month now and all I can say is WOW! If you're looking for a subtle exhaust, these are not for you at all. These things are LOUD at start up, until it's completely warmed up. After that, it is a deep and aggressive sound at idle and cruising speeds but when you get on it, these things just scream. Perfect aggressive exhaust in my opinion and worth every penny. ... show more
