This harness system is sturdily made with strong straps and connectors. I had seen some with elastic straps that go behind the seat, but this is a solid strap and metal connector that can be tightened to ensure stability. The shoulder adjustable straps are also tight which are reassuring, but they do take some work to get adjusted. I would strongly suggest using a chair like I have to adjust the harness to fit your child before using on a plane so that you would only need to make minor adjustments to adapt to the seat, not try to get it all adjusted for your child's size on the plane. You also would need cooperation from person behind your child to slip the strap down behind or under their food tray so they are not inconvenienced. I am flying with my grandson in a few months, and I have partially adjusted it to his size, but will check again when it is closer and look forward to using this. ... show more

It’s pretty easy to use you just slide the red strap over the seat, hopefully the person behind you won’t mind because it does mess up them using their tray, this was a short flight so the person was fine with it, then you put the child in the seat adjust the shoulder straps and run the airplane seat belt through the bottom the the straps. Simple and if your child is use to a car seat then there shouldn’t be any issues. This kept my child from moving and sliding around in the seat. I felt like it keeps them more secure also. My favorite thing about this is it doesn't take up much room. It folds easily. I did have to practice so I wouldn't be blindsided when ready to use. Once the adjustments are made, it's easy to click together.

Do not buy this product. It isn't well made like the authentic FAA approved harness is. The stitching does not appear strong. The plastic buckle looks weak. Airlines would not approve this for use in aircraft because it is not approved by FAA. The only non-car seat child restraint device that is certified by the FAA is AmSafe's Child Aviation Restraint System (CARES) device, and the ASIN for that is B0012E4FV8. ... show more

I assume it works and has a nice little caring bag. But I have some concerns how sloppily the labels are sewn on. It makes me question in the manufacturing with this label. I’m 100% sure that it’s not FAA approved. I think I would feel a little bit better about it if I felt like they took pride in putting this together. But it currently gives me pause to use, and I’m pretty sure the airlines would question it as well because the labels are so sloppy. Maybe I’m over thinking this, but it shows me the craftsmanship is not important, witch, and a safety harness. I feel like those details matter. ... show more

This item arrived very quickly. I have used other child Airplane harnesses before. This looks like it will do its job, it has less moving parts than the older style which means less disturbing the person in the seat behind, love that. It is made of strong material and looks and feels like it will last beyond its needed years. The harness is labeled FAA approved. All children traveling by airplane should have one of these. Not having been able to use this in travel yet, I can only gauge this product by how it is made. The webbing and buckles seem to be made just as you would expect in a car seat, so I do not expect any issue with it being able to secure a little one in the seat. I did try this out in the car just for fit and feature in the driveway. I like the shoulder belt aspect of this for travel. If we should encounter any turbulence, I feel this will be a little added layer of protection for the little one from any forward jarring motions. Pretty easy to attach and set up (just make sure it doesn't affect the seat table of the person behind you) and it feels secure with good quality material. It allows for peace of mind while my child does not get to wiggle around that much on the plane!
