The four-layer construction allows for excellent grip to the deck, strength of the product to minimize tearing at the fastener points, and good gripability for slip resistance.With 10 squares in every roll, DuPont Roof Protector allows for maximum roof coverage and efficient installation-making it easier to install than roofing felt. As a result, there are fewer overlaps, seams and fasteners, which helps reduce both labor and waste. The Dupont Tyvek underlayment went on faster and easier than tarpaper. That's a plus. I learned from information on the Dupont site that this product can be applied and will potentially withstand elements up to 3 months before the final roofing is installed. That would be amazing. I will get the roofing on ASAP but it's comforting to have the underlayment installed and be dried in even if it's just a day or two of rain risk. ... show more

Arrived on time, 30 minutes before the roof went on. We were counting on that as a big box store was another week out on delivery. The roofing protector is slightly different than traditional Tyvek in composition but easy to handle and work with, cut, etc. It’s new to me but so far I’m impressed. We used it under a metal roof, no sheathing, for a “lean to” addition on a shop building to keep drips off of equipment when the roof sweats. I too variance that it does not resist water whatsoever! I've used many different types of roofing underlayment and this one is by far the worst! Just like the gentlemens review above mine identical problem! You would expect for a synthetic underlayment to repel water as your buttoning up an adition on your home. Was installed yesterday because it called for rain for the next few days. After I seen it was leaking the next morning, I certainly thought something was done wrong. Inspected it. I could find nothing wrong and I've been doing this for 23 years. So I applied a second layer like it says can be applied. Same results! Very unsatisfied and it's still supposed to rain another day. Completely frustrated with it! Thanks a lot ... show more

    • shrinks in the sun
i installed it 2 days befor my roofing arrived we have 100 degree hot sun which shrunk this underlayment one of my overlaps got exposed because of the width shrunk all of my ends on the length side moved out at least 3 inches have to do it all over with a new rollmanufacturer states that it has very good thermal but this product being black color in the sun will shrink consideribley and all your cuts are going to be some where else afterwards ... show more
