  • Really Fun, A LOT of work
Style: DG - Kiki's Magic Emporium
The media could not be loaded. These set are so cool and detailed, but they are a large amount of work. I have done the greenhouse and magic emporium. The Greenhouse was really difficult and took a lot of time. The plants are very tedious. The magic emporium was much more manageable, but still challenging. I would highly recommend for people looking for a fun challenge. Would suggest going for one with little to no plants to start because they are a bit easier. Wouldn't recommend for beginners unless they have someone to help. But if you are a beginner and still want to give it a try make sure to go in with a lot of patience and understand that these are 20-30 hours of work. For one set, my led light didn't work and I contacted support. They sent me a replacement bulb free of charge(it took a while but it did come). So I can say that if a piece is missing or comes broken, they are very willing to replace your piece. ... show more

  • Requires time and patience
Style: DG - Sam's Bookstore
For a person who is not crafty, I have really enjoyed my time putting this little bookstore together. The materials are of good quality. I think my model will be as cute as how it is pictured. At first, I found the directions a little difficult, but then I caught on. This isn’t like legos where they show you every little step to make so it can be a little tricky. The glue kind of sucks. I recommend getting your own glue or squeezing small amounts at a time onto something like a paper plate and using a toothpick to more precisely place the glue. I also recommend a magnifying glass. This isn’t something you will put together in a day so have a box you can place it into in between days if you don’t want/can’t have it out indefinitely. I found upholstering the chair to be the most difficult part. Otherwise, smooth sailing (besides minor frustrations). Also, don’t think that bottom part it says to paint is the only thing you will be using the paint for. There are also walls to paint. ... show more

  • Hours of quality time with kiddos!!!
Style: DG - Kiki's Magic Emporium
I ordered this unsure if age 9 & 11 would be interested. It was a huge success. It is absolutely adorable. This set helped create many hours of quality time~ with no screen time or technology (my main goal). The glue was very efficient yet no one glued their fingers together and easy clean up. Lots of little pieces, Everything was included! *to make the chair~ a few of the spindles need to be broken/snapped for size. Took us a while to figure that one out. ... show more

  • Time consuming and challenging but lots of fun
Style: DG - Emily's Flower Shop
The media could not be loaded. I enjoyed making this a lot and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. A lot of this was very difficult and I recommend getting a better brand of glue - both a transparent craft glue and a white craft glue. The glue that comes with it is stringy - I used Aleene’s brand. You can also use better quality paint. Nail polish worked really well for little plastic pieces. I also recommend having an Exacto knife, a small needle nose pliers, wire strippers, and tweezers. You will also need a place to store your furniture and flowers as you make them, where they won’t get batted around by a curious cat (lesson learned the hard way.) The pieces are very tiny and you will drop a lot, so make sure you work in a place where you can find all of the beads and little pieces of papers that inevitably roll off the table. ... show more

  • Excellent kits that look wonderful when completed
Style: DG - Sam's Bookstore
Five stars for the product. Easy to assemble? No, it takes time, effort and precision. Sturdiness? Well, if you leave it on a shelf it's fine (and lovely), but they are somewhat fragile when assembled. For beginners? Nope, and not for children either. Patience, care, thinking ahead, planning then doing are essentials. I have completed "Sam's Study" and "Cathy's Greenhouse" and love them both. Days and weeks of pains-taking assembly of many, many details, lots of them very small. The end product is SO worth it, but take your time. I would recommend purchasing some extra tools and materials (a real high-end craft glue, razor or Exacto knife, needle-nose pliers), but with those and the supplies that come with the kit, you will have all you need. Don't forget lots of patience. For the Sam's Study book library, I used several of my own images and covers of my own books, carefully measured the size of the pictures that came with the kit, photographed my images, and then shrunk them via PhotoShop to the proper size, and had a contact sheet printed at Walgreen's (for $5) and personalized the study. It looks great. Highest recommendation for these products. Have fun and remember: Patience! ... show more

  • I still love them!
Style: DG - Cozy Kitchen
I am a huge fan of these guys and I'm noticing that every set will have it's pros and cons. Though this set is worth the purchase, some obstacles I came across with this set were: the glue, instructions and some of the structure. The instructions were a bit confusing for me as some of the visuals would show different products or show products that look the same. I notice that when you put A and B together, the instructions showing how to put C and D together to connect to A & B, the picture of A and B is gone. Hope that makes sense! I advise to use a hot glue gun or your own glue as the glue included in the set made me feel sick once some fell on my skin. (They do have a warning about it being on the skin but how can you really avoid that? :) ) The structure was another problem. You REALLY need a cutter or something sharp to remove the wooden pieces or else it can crack and/or break in half. Even chip! Don't push too hard, these pieces are somewhat fragile. Aside from all of this, it was a successful build and I will keep buying from them because I love them and there sets are awesome sauce! ... show more

I've bought multiple sets similar to this and enjoy them very much. Make sure you pay close attention to the introductions and be careful with the pieces.
