  • Far far beyond what I used to have with Vuzix iPod glasses
Color: Max AR Glasses
The picture quality is really quite good. I'm sitting in front of 32" 4k monitors and these show up as 1080p monitors in very vivid colors. Games play great on it too. Sitting down, the screen looks like it is about 2 feet in front of me and very clear at 1080p widescreen. When I plug into my iPhone 15 Pro, it shows as portrait display and when I do a full screen video, it plays in widescreen. Very nice. No software needed for that. Sound also sounds great when playing games or watching movies. This will be great for when I'm on a train or just sitting at home. But definitely worth the $300 I paid for it. The dials on the top for prescription lenses were great. My left eye is -4.75 and setting this to the maximum setting of -5 caused everything to be crystal clear and in focus. So no prescription lenses needed to be bought. Just like my old Vuzix lenses. :) ... show more

  • They've created an actual, usable, headset monitor.
Color: Max AR Glasses
I've had the headset for five days now, here is what i see. Pros: +++ Lightweight +++ Just the right amount of brightness/dimness ++ Fits fairly well, although it sometimes slides down my nose, it isn't a problem to push it back up. same as a normal pair of sunglasses + Picture is good except for items listed below under Cons + focus nobs are well designed and work right I like that it doesn't take a separate battery I like that it's plug and play I like that i can see through the image when needed, This makes me feel safer using it. Cons - the image at the sides and bottom is blurry. the image fills too much of the space and feels like it's going over the "virtual canvas" --- This is my biggest complaint. the volume control is not granular enough for me. it goes 1 to 10 and for me 9 is too soft and 10 is too loud. Neutrals The sound and picture are very private. no one else sees or hears what you do. on Android, the only app that works very well with this is VLC. Its the only app that treats it properly as a second monitor Doesn't seem to work with Windows 10 or 11 the sound conduction doesn't work well if you have hair. I'd consider buying a second pair. ... show more

  • Worthless.
Color: Max AR Glasses
With our without the lenses i could not see a clear image. What I could see was small and pathetic. No recommendations from me. And my eyes are -1.75. This claims up to-6.00. Not true.

  • They are ok, not great
Color: Max AR Glasses
If you have money to burn you can get these. They aren't terrible but for the price they are not worth it. Somewhere around 150 dollars would be better and even that is kind of high. The good When the glasses sit perfectly, the image is mostly completely in view. When the diopters are adjusted perfectly, the image is pretty clear The ok The screen really doesn't seem as big as advertised. It's a optical illusion so you can see it for what it is if you try. The bad Waaaaay too much adjustment needed to get a decent image Glasses get warm and it can get uncomfortable after a while In general, the tech just isn't there yet. In about five years or so I think we'll have devices like this that are more practical than they are novelty. IMO save your money for something better ... show more

  • Great picture, mostly. AR, not so much.
Color: max glasses
I have been getting into these types of glasses recently as I love the idea of having a personal portable display that can be used pretty much anywhere. These products though are a bit limited at present. For example, they only work with certain devices and even popular devices (like google pixel phones) are not compatible. Definitely still in early days for these products, so I am approaching them as such. Also important to note that these really do not have much if any AR capabilities. There is some software available for specific phones that I think allows locking the display in place so when you turn your head, the image stays fixed. But it requires using their software and it will only work on very specific devices. And even so, the field of view here is relatively low, so the expectation is that any movement will result in parts of the "screen" being cut off. But as a portable display, I think these are pretty nice. If you happen to have the right head shape for them. I do not. So with the default set up and nose pads, I could not get the entire image to visible at one time. Either the top was cut off by the diopter adjustment pieces or the bottom of the image was cut off by the bottom of the frames. After some adjustment, I found that if I removed the included nose bridges entirely, and added some adhesive nose pads (for comfort and to raise the glasses up slightly) I could get most of the image to display at once. These really need more adjustment options. Either more nose bridge sizes, or the ability to adjust the angle of the arms. Because these are absolutely not one size fits all (in terms of being able to see the whole image) and adjustment will probably be needed. Image quality is really nice however. I am nearsighted and the diopter adjustments work extremely well. I can get a really sharp picture with these. However, I think they work well for me because my eyesight in both of my eyes is pretty similar. I imagine for people with larger differences, the diopters could cause issues since the size of each side would end up different from the adjustment, and it could make it uncomfortable or impossible to view properly. The other issue as well is that while I can get the image tack sharp in the center of the frame and towards the top, I find the bottom and especially the bottom corners is noticeably less sharp. There is some minimal glare that can be seen around some of the edges as well. On its own, there is also no way to adjust the sizing beyond that. For me, if the field of view was a little smaller, it would be a lot easier to view the entire image at once without having to get it absolutely perfectly adjusted on my face. The upcoming rokid station streaming android tv box I think will offer that ability, so that will be nice. They are also pretty comfortable too. The arms are springy and dont clamp too hard, the weight is a little much, but not too bad. Biggest issue again is that I had to remove the included nose pads the adhesive ones I am using are not super comfortable. I also need to have the from pushed up against my forehead in order to get the image to fit. And that is where a lot of the internal electronics are located, so they get warm. So far I have not experienced them getting too hot, but I definitely feel like the warmth can build up a bit of sweat over time, and may prove a bit uncomfortable for longer viewing sessions. They have built in speakers as well. They are fine. Nothing great, but not terrible. But the big thing to keep in mind is that these really are not AR glasses. There are some AR type experiences that can be had if you have specifically the correct devices to use these with, but otherwise the only AR thing about these is that they "project" a large virtual screen in front of you. But that screen is not fixed in place and does not actually "exist" in the real world at all. It is fixed to your vision and moves with every move of your head. It is really just a portable display. But that is what I was expecting and looking for, and for that, they are pretty good. and I would recommend them to anyone who is willing to tinker a little bit to get the fit right, and is only really expecting them as a portable personal display, and not looking for any "AR" experiences. ... show more
