The fabric is heavy which makes it an excellent choice for winter. If you don't like a tight fit consider ordering a size or two larger. It launders beautifully and the color does not fade. I bought this sweater for a holiday trip to NYC. I get cold easily as I was born,raised and live in Florida. This sweater is heavier in weight. I was surprised when I took it out of the package at the weight of it. Very fitted but has good stretch to it. I have a tummy and while it is fitted it didn't show my "rolls". In addition, because it is fitted the sleeves do not ride up so it was easy to layer without the sweater bunching up. It kept me very warn. This is not a cheaply made sweater. It is a better quality sweater than the one I bought at Nordstroms. This sweater looks like it could have come from Nordstrom or a higher end store. I weight 187 and I'm 5'4 and purchased an XL. I’m 5’8 155 ordered a large. Arm length is great (I love the fitted arms too) material thick and warm, body length great. However, if I lift my arms the material is baggy under arm pits and top of side rib cage making me look flabby. I’ll return for a medium. Made well, fits well, launders well. I do not dry mine, although it may be fine. I have purchased three colors - pink, ivory white - which is not white, but ivory and then the tan which is a little darker than the ivory white. I usually wear a medium or large. I like the fit, though as usual, the arms seem to be meant for an orangutan - just be aware if you're short. I had to cuff them about 3". Also, the first time I wore it, the neck stretched out so much. I didn't pull or tug on it - it just rolled out.
