It is okay for chopping but not long enough. Also, I wish it comes with a blade edge guard to secure the sharp blade against accidental damage and protect against mishandling. I opened the first knife since it wasn't meant to be a gift. The blade was covered with sticky tape/plastic that never entirely came off after a great deal of work. then couldn't get it all off. I opened the other two boxes to clean them, too. What a mess! Not good for gifting after all! The "Rococo" logo on one of the blades even came off during the cleaning, so clearly not durable.
