  • Awesome power, sound quality, reliability and Clip indication for a great price!
I've had 2 of these and a P600x4 for almost 3 years and they have performed flawless. I initially was running these at 2ohm each powering a Sundown SA10D4 Rev3 and swapped the SA10D4s for SaD10D2s and running them at 1 ohm now. Hits harder but I can tell a small reduction dampening factor. They each made around 1400w RMS @ 1 ohm. The clip indicator is a speaker/sub saver and the best feature. How many DIY installers really own a high quality oscilloscope to properly set the gains? (or Signal proc) So most amps you would end up using a multimeter and get it "close" but you still can't hear when your at just enough clipping to wear on your speakers and not get optimum sound quality. It's a time saver when tuning the system as whole also if your not using a signal processor. The efficiency is incredible. Very low current draw for the power. I figured I was probably going to need a higher output alternator when I finished the complete system but didn't. My Ram has 180 amp OEM alternator. It's the Express model so it doesn't have a lot of features to draw current and every single light was converted to LED which helps current draw a lot. 2 of these amps, 1 RF P600x4 (AB amp) and an Alpine KTPU 180w with no compromise to any electrical component on the vehicle. Did big 4 and main power wire using Sky High Audio 1/0 AWG OFC wire and tinned copper lugs which help get the most out of the alternator. I don't know of another amp with the same features, power and quality for this price. You won't be disappointed. (just make sure not to cheap out on the wiring/ install components) ... show more

  • unbelievable
awesome amp... my birth sheet reads 1495 watts @ 1-0hm. I have this pushing 1 Sundown SA-12 in a customized ported box..it can easily push 2 of them so i adjust my settings carefully to avoid too much overpowering which is better than underpowering. it doesn't get hot.. lights up a nice blue color. i have gain about 3/4 way up. i'm glad i spent a little extra to get this over the prime series.. higher quality components and build quality. probably more efficient as well producing a cleaner signal which will also last longer and have a higher resale value.. need i say more.. oh, and looks nicer. keep in mind, the speaker this is pushing is underrated @ 750 watt rms. it can easily handle 1200 rms. but to be safe, i have gain maybe 3/4 up with no bass boost used on head unit and i have the @45hz boost on the amp off/down completely.. I have LPF set @ 80hz on head unit and amp and use my head unit to control bass levels... loudness, eq, speaker level, etc... just no bass boost or boost on the amp itself . make sure you have a 4 volt pre-out head unit with decent rca cables... made a huge difference coming from a 2 volt pre-out head unit ... show more

  • Exceeded my expectations
This amp is advertised as a 1000 watt amp, but knowing Rockford, you're always going to get more than advertised. When I got my birth certificate, it read 1482 watts of raw power at 1 ohm. At first I was confused with the whole "C.L.E.A.N." setup deal, but once I figured it out, I noticed a large increase in sound quality and surprisingly frequency range. I have this bad boy hooked up to an SA-12 running at 2 ohms and its already destroying my car, yet sounding very clean. In the future I'll be hooking this up to Rockford's P3-2X12 Dual Loaded Enclosure to really let it scream at 1 ohm. Overall, if you have the money, I would recommend this over all other 1000 watt amps except the T1000-1. Pros: -Tons of raw power -Good sound quality -Relatively Power Efficient -Good looking amp Cons: -Thick, barely sits under seats -Will need a high output alternator to use to fullest potential ... show more

  • Great bang for the buck
A picture worth a thousand words, my test cert is showing 492w @4ohm, 892w @2ohm, and 1472w @1ohm tested at 14.4v @1% THD. I followed the RF instruction to set up the gain, surprisingly my Pioneer 4100NEX send out unclipped clean 4V signal all the way up to 39 out of 40 max, for safety concern i back it down to 37. Then cranked up the amp gain slowly until the output indicator blue light came on, which according to RF it's safe @1% THD and this is where the rated power of my amp is at. I saw someone did a video review on "Review: Rockford Fosgate C.L.E.A.N. amplifier gain-setting system" and put the amp under the scope, the clip indicator from these RF amp is spot on detecting clipped signal. The gain on my amp reached 2V mark (at 1 o'clock) before it clipped, yours may be different since it’s all depends on the input signal from your head unit. I’m running an old school single 12” eD 13Ov.2 been rocking the same sub for about 8 years in a 1.25cf box, it definitely slam harder than with the Alpine M450 mono amp (only rated at 450w @2ohm), this subwoofer simply refused to die as I don’t abuse my stereo equipment (or my ears) anyway. This amp seems to be very efficient, I ran a 4 gauge OFC wire with 60amp fuse from distribution block in the trunk to this amp to see if it could be a power hog, and it has yet to blow the fuse, almost 900w@2ohm and draw less than 60amp of powar hell yea I’m happy with the efficiency. I know RF recommended 140amp fuse for this amp but that is assuming you’re running this amp at full tilt drawing at over 1400w, but @2ohm it won’t draw anywhere close to it. I loves this Punch series since I think it is at the sweetest price point, there isn’t any compelling reason for me to get the Power series since the only difference I can see is 24dB xover, and slightly smaller footprint, it cost twice as much but everything else seems to be identical to the Punch. Avoid the entry level Prime series, it has inferior security features and have seen quite a few people blew their amps. The only con I see from this amp is not being able to turn off the 12dB crossover, my Pioneer head unit has steeper slope so I just leave the amp’s xover setting at 200hz and cross my sub at 80hz @18dB at the HU. I also don’t care about the Punch EQ, as I usually frown upon bass boost of any kind, I left it at 0dB. Overall Performance is 5 stars, features wise is 4 stars but can be easily overlooked given the price to performance ratio, this ain't your typical run-of-the-mill Walmart or Radioshack amp for sure. ... show more

  • Best amp in this price range.
Rockford Fosgate made this amp so easy to tune. They took out all the guessing. I use it with a pair of Punch P3 12’s and they sound great.

  • 1 ohm defective
I loved everything about this product until it suddenly stopped working at 1 ohm. 2ohm still works but what a bummer. Tried to get an exchange but I can't get help.
