Facts to Know: Prior knowledge: RoC manufactures many skincare products for bargain conscious consumers who look for good buys in spaces like retail pharmacies but you must have some knowledge of packaging, ingredients, and marketing terms to find an efficient, usable bargain. Effectiveness: RoC Retinol Correction is an SPF 30 daily moisturizer with, it seems, a small amount of retinol - derived from vitamin A. Because of the daily use, the three active ingredients are listed as sunscreens. Retinol is listed as an inactive ingredient in the middle of a long list. As a moisturizer and sunscreen, the cream seems to help; honestly, I have not spent much time in full sunlight. When using a retinol and alpha and beta hydroxy acids, inclusion of a sunscreen, in a care routine, is non-negotiable (or wear a hat or cap...,). Grade A- Value: I was looking for a daily sunscreen with a plus ingredient that works synergistically with my exfoliating routine and would cost comfortably within a very limited budget. The cost of approximately $21.00 for a SPF 30 sunscreen/moisturizer is at the high end of my budget. The 1.0 fl. oz. is $21.00 per fl. oz. This is costly compared to a comparable brand with a higher SPF; I'm looking at you Naturium. Naturium's SPF 50 sunscreen/moisturizer costs $21.99 for 1.7 fl. oz, so it costs about $12.94 a fl. oz. Based upon this comparison, RoC's sunscreen/moisturizer could cost less. Grade B Advertised: I was looking for a good quality sunscreen with a plus. Their active ingredients say this is a good sunscreen with moisturizing effects manufactured by a recognized company. Grade B- Note: Your skin is the largest organ of the body and covers everything. Skincare is not a frivolous luxury. Good, quality skincare is necessary for healthy living and the reason why sunscreens are listed by and covered by some medical insurance plans. I've always believed that skincare is far more important than makeup. Do skincare right, you won't need nearly as much of the latter, especially as you get older. When a moisturizer I used for many years was discontinued, I was crushed, and a search for its replacement began, and it was a journey. I went with cheap to "you must be kidding me" pricing options, and none left me impressed. Some left me disgusted. I was at the point where I just assumed I'd never find one I loved again. One day I was working from home and caught a random segment on The View, where they were discussing this product. Truthfully, I had passed this on the shelf of my supermarket and drugstore 100 times but never thought it would be anything special, but I decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! In the six weeks since I've been using this product, I've noticed a marked improvement in my skin. Fine lines are less noticeable, and a few dark spots I had are all but gone (like I brought it to my physician's attention because I was so amazed). My skin just looks more radiant, and I find I'm wearing less makeup to cover up now. All this for $20 a tube! I'm all in. There are only two negatives - one is that tube. It's an old-school metal tube, and I don't know if that's a function of the product, but it's crappy. Once the product is 2/3 done, I roll it to prevent it from creasing/cracking and causing product slippage. It's not a huge problem, but it's annoying. The other thing is probably unique to me, but I can't use this on my neck. I have sensitive skin, and while this doesn't bother my face at all, I tend to break out if I use it on my neck. I simply use a different moisturizer on my neck (one that I didn't feel worked well on my face), and we're all good. I highly recommend this product. ... show more
