  • I'm enjoying this kit but it's a difficult project for me
I've never really been an arts and crafts person, but I wanted to challenge myself and try something new during the lockdown period. I like this kit because there's not much creative input from the builder since all the directions are written out for you. Therefore, you just have to follow the directions and build! Should be easy... With that said, there are a few pieces of paperwork and metal wire bending that have been infuriating to put together. Several pieces require you to cut out complex shapes, fold them up like origami, and then glue them together so it doesn't unravel. Perhaps experienced craftsmen have special tricks to do this, but my fat fingers have a hard time. Shoutout to the two "candle stick holders" that took me over 75 minutes to fold, glue, and assemble and still turned out lopsided and ugly. Additionally, some of the objects requiring metal wire to be bent into right angles and curvy shapes is downright impossible to nail perfectly. Specifically, there's a metal storage rack that ruined my day when it kept falling apart as I assembled it... Despite this, I'm still enjoying the kit. The directions can be a little obtuse, and I've definitely skipped some directions in favor of "doing it my way". I had one issue where I cut into the green tissue paper in such weird ways that it was impossible for me to cut the correct dimensions for a the final few flowers. Not a huge problem. It took me about 60 hours +/- to finish this project. Perhaps someone with more experience can do this stuff much quicker, but it's a good time sink! Photos showing how mine turned out. I keep forgetting to buy a battery for the lamp but I don't really care about that anyways. ... show more

  • GREAT Kits!
I'm officially obsessed with these DIY houses. I've done 3 now and hope to do the rest. (I've also simultaneously finished 3 entire series on Netflix while making these. I live an exciting life.) Yes, these are very time consuming, but that is the point. If you relish tiny details, making things just right, and having something cute to look at, this is your hobby. As far as quality, I'm pretty happy. A few boards have been warped, but I've had no missing pieces which is pretty miraculous considering how detailed these kits are. I'd suggest getting some specialty craft scissors for those tiny cuts (I'm using the EK Success Cutter Bee Precision-Cut Scissors) and I also like using the Scotch Create Permanent glue Pen for the paper items. These kits are definitely more suited for adults, but I discovered these kits for my daughter to do with me at the same time. • Miller's Garden
Thanks to my generous sister, this is the second kit I received and completed from this company. I'm very happy with the quality of the materials and the ease of the instructions. This kit did not take as long for me to complete as my first: Cathy's Flower House. I enjoy working on these kits very much and look forward to doing more. The satisfaction of the completed project is well worth the effort. I keep them in my home in dust covers so I can enjoy them every day! ... show more

  • Very time intensive but good quality
Love it! But.... extremely time intensive!!! I wish it was a little more precut and ready to assemble. I wasn’t expecting it to be so much work! But well done and beautiful! Nice if you have lots of time on your hands!

  • Definitely a challenge
I'm about halfway through this doll house. It's a lot of work. You literally have to build everything. It can be fun, but for certain items it's nearly impossible to do unless you have super tiny hands. I really think some of the items would just be better off being pre made, or more easily assembled on sturdier materials (ex the watering can and bucket I didn't even try because they were so tiny and made with just flimsy paper. There's no way I could have put them together). I also didn't have enough materials to make certain items (not enough wire or transparent material) so I couldn't make everything. I ended up using a hot glue guns for some of it because it dried quicker. Over all, so far it's been a challenging project but I would probably buy another one just for the challenge. (Also mine was supposed to come with batteries and it didn't, so make sure to buy some 3v watch batteries just in case. ... show more

  • Teen displays on bookshelf
The media could not be loaded. We loved this project. It’s adorable and well designed. This kept my 10 and 15 year old busy for 3 days. It is darling. We will be buying more.

  • Delightfully tedious, patience is key!
This was my first mini dollhouse and I'm hooked! Patience is the key. If you're starting to get stressed with it, just walk away and try again later. I found I could work on it up to 4 hours at a time before my eyes crossed! I would not recommend this for children under ten. I didn't finish all the flowers and plants, it was just too much for me. Very well organized and clear instructions. I would recommend putting the walls together before making all the miniatures. They tend to get lost in the mess! ... show more
