Its 18" shaft is great for liquefying, pureeing, and blending to make delicious soups, sauces, pates, and more in your commercial kitchen. Replacing the power cord if it becomes worn or frayed is simple and easy because it was engineered to detach from the unit. The stainless steel bell and blade assembly easily disassemble for cleaning, while gears are housed in an all metal gear box for longevity. For comfort, an ergonomic handle reduces fatigue during use, while a locking button enables continuous operation during large jobs. Ordered this unit as an open box item from Amazon warehouse to try to save some money. The unit I received was well used with lots of scratches and scuffs, but it worked well, and i just wanted it for mixing sauces so nothing heavy duty and figured it would get scratched up anyway. After a few weeks it completely froze up and stopped working so I had to return it. Next time I'll save up a bit more for a new unit, for now I'll keep scraping by with a smaller vitamix handheld and mixing smaller batches. I'm 50/50 on trying this again since it's supposed to be a commercial grade unit, I'm just not sure how much better a new one will be vs the used one that I tried. The power when it works is amazing and the length of arm is great for big pots, I'm hoping I just got unlucky with the open box unit. ... show more

Broke, after a little more than a year. Replacing broke parts costs the same as a new blender. This is supposed to be an industrial equipment. But it is not.
