  • Get them
Configuration: Pathlight only
I love these. They work well. They are bright enough to light up a pathway. I have 6 of them, all on the right side of a walkway. The furthest gap between them is about 10 feet and I can see well enough to make it to the next path light. The neighborhood cats do set these things off so keep animal traffic in mind. You can turn off motion notifications if that bothers you. The lights will still work, you just don't have to know about it. Plants moving in the wind will also set them off. Again, if it bothers you to get the notifications, there is a solution. I have had these for about three months now. No issues at all and I have not had to change the batteries yet. ... show more

  • Does what it's supposed to do
Configuration: Pathlight only
I like that they work well with my Ring cameras. Also, it's impressive that you can tell each light what to do if activated, for example, I can program each light to start recording to whichever Ring camera that I desire. Most IMPRESSIVE!!!

  • Extra lighting for my Floodlight Camera, response is not immediate, somewhat poor Wi-Fi range
Configuration: Pathlight only
The new Ring smart lighting line is a great compliment to my Ring Floodlight Cameras. In particular, I wanted to light up more of the front of the house when my driveway's floodlight camera detected motion. I purchased four of the new Ring pathlights and a hub. Now, when the driveway light detects motion, it turns on the pathlights. The setup process went smoothly. You plug the hub in and scan a barcode and the app walks you through setup. Then, you do the same with these pathlights... insert batteries into each and scan a barcode from each box. At the end, you can set up groups of lights with different names. Then you can use the app to decide what other devices can turn these lights on. For example, I set my driveway floodlight camera to light up these four pathlights, lighting the walkway to the front door. You can have the lights then turn off 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, or 5 minutes. You can also set a timeframe that lights can be triggered between each day, and more advanced schedules during the week. Response time is not immediate. When my floodlight camera detects motion and turns on its lights, it takes 3-5 seconds for these pathway lights to turn on. I have a very strong Wi-Fi signal in the house and I have the Ring hub close to the front of the house where the lights are. The Ring smart hub, required for any of the new smart lighting products, does not have a very good Wi-Fi radio on it and I found that it struggled to get a good signal despite my strong signal throughout the house to all other devices. Perhaps that is the reason for the delay? There is a "dusk to dawn" feature that will keep your pathlights dimly lit all night and then brighten up when motion is detected. You can turn this off so the lights do not stay dimly lit all night and just turn on during motion to save batteries. The color temperature of these lights is much closer to white than I was hoping for. I wanted more of a soft white to match my other outdoor lights. But since these lights don't stay on for very long, it's okay. They are not "daylight" bright or have any blue in it, but they are not quite soft white either. I'm not sure how well or for how long these will stand up to the elements. I will report back if I see any signs of deterioration or moisture inside. I do wish they were made of metal instead of plastic though. Ring recommends against using rechargeable batteries: "Ring recommends using standard alkaline batteries in Pathlights. Rechargeable batteries will work in Ring Pathlights, though they may not last as long as alkaline batteries. Heavy duty batteries should not be used in Ring Pathlights. Lithium batteries will also work in Ring Pathlights and are recommended when the weather is extremely cold." Five stars for now because they do exactly what I wanted them to - light up more of the front of my home when motion is detected. If I have any issues in the future, I will update. ... show more

  • Ring support is the bees knees!
Configuration: 2 Pathlights + Bridge
They work well, but the batteries don't last as long as I had hoped. I did purchase rechargeable tho, to reduce cost and waste. **UPDATE** I received an email from the Ring Support Team, to see if they could help me with my battery issue. Come to find out, there were some settings in the app that were causing the batteries to drain more quickly. For instance, the lights were set to be on dim at night, then brighten with motion. I didn't need them to be on all night, so I turned that off. Also, they were linked and set to come on when there was motion in the front of the house. the spotlight cam in the back does that already, so I disables that. The batteries do indeed last longer now, and I'm happy. ... show more

  • Best path lights I’ve ever had
Configuration: 6 Pathlights + Bridge
These aren’t those $5.00 path lights you buy at Home Depot, that’s for sure. What they are though, are efficient, reliable, and durable lights that integrate perfectly into our Ring security system. I didn’t have to run electrical wiring because they work on D-cell batteries. In general, we get anywhere from 9 to 12 months out of our batteries before we need to do some replacements; the time range depends on the brand of battery. Duracell - YES! Energizer - No! In order to use the lights, you will need a Ring Bridge. The beauty of these path lights is that they provide just enough light to show the path, but when they detect something close to them, the lights get brighter, clearly lighting the path. The Ring Bridge sends you a message if your lights have detected movement, or if there is a problem with a light. They are consistent in the way they work and the level of light that they offer. No sun that day? No worries. My path lights always work, rain or shine. ... show more

  • Good product
Configuration: 6 Pathlights + Bridge
This was actually real easy to set up and maintain. It works great. I just don’t like that each of the lights runs on 4 double D batteries and those are expensive to replace.
