I got this specifically for my new home office where I have a small desk and a monitor stand that overhangs my keyboard. In the morning I don't always see the number keys (or their corresponding symbols) that I may have to depress on my non-lighted keyboard, and I thought this would help. I wanted it to be inexpensive and a solid color light (no rainbow/shifting). This fits the bill very well EXCEPT the number keys are not lighted well... the key light comes from the middle, which is sufficient for all other keys, but it's kind of hard to make out the symbols above the numbers. Still, works well enough for my needs. I basically know where they are, just need an extra visual orientation, which I get even with the top third of the symbol not well lit. I will say that the keyboard touch is pretty good for such an inexpensive keyboard... it has a plastic "clacking" sound to it, very reminiscent of older mechanical keyboards, and I don't mind it at all because it's not too loud of a clacking. I have a quiet mechanical keyboard I use for gaming and have always been disappointed that the newer models don't clack, so I may be a bit biased. :) The keys are slightly stiff, so I would say this is NOT great for gaming, but perfectly fine for office work. They keys are good sized without making me feel like I cannot reach them (I am a woman with average hand size), and they are very responsive. After over a month of daily use I have never had one fail to register or stick in any way. Regarding sound: I noticed my keys have a slight winching sound, as if there is a squeaky wheel. It's very slight. I used air to blow out the keyboard but it doesn't appear to be related to any dust or debris in the keys, just a natural result of the keys being slightly raised off the keyboard. The light is very soothing, bright enough to see the keys (except the aforementioned number key symbols) but not harsh or an eye strain. I love that I can switch between purple, red, and blue to suit my mood or shut it off entirely if needed (I haven't yet, even on mornings I wake up with a headache). Standard US key layout, number pad attached, and yet VERY compact - fits my small desk area with room to spare. You cannot beat the price. I bought this in February of 2019 as a keyboard for a laptop I was using as a desktop. Since then I built a system to use for personal/office and light gaming. I moved this board over to the new rig as it was one less thing I had to purchase. I have been using this now for over 2 years (March of 2021) and it's been a reliable keyboard and pretty much done everything that I have needed it to do. For $18 that I paid for it, it was well worth the cost and has gone above and beyond in it's service thus far. There is no clear mechanical "click" when you depress the keys but it's good enough. If you have worked on any keyboard that has shipped as OE with an HP or Dell in the past and were fine with it, this will be enough for you. I am typing this review out on it now. If you are picky about the keys having that mechanical feel when you depress them, this is not the keyboard for you. The footprint is compact and it has no real edges or frame like a traditional keyboard which is nice as you can take canned air and just clean the keyboard of errant debris like dried skin, sesame seeds from a bagel you ate over the board or any other dust or stuff that has collected amongst the keys. If I had any complaints is that there are only 3 color choices for the lighting red, blue or purple. The red and blue are a bit dark and in regular room light it's a bit dim. The purple, since it uses both LEDs is brighter so I have it on purple most of the time to make the keys more visible. There are some keys that are not lit up completely (e.g. the "enter" key, the "r" is not as bright as "ente", "FN" key is not as bright as those around it) but for an $18 keyboard I am not going to complain (though I guess I just did). The light key is too close to the rest of the keys so I do inadvertently press it changing the LED color which honestly is not a big deal. Other than that I really cannot complain much more about this keyboard. If you are looking for a basic, reliable and inexpensive keyboard that is backlit, this is a good choice. ... show more

Favorite part of the keyboard is the squishiness of it. Reminds me of an old Dell keyboard. Glad I purchased, some of the keys combinations don't work (FN + PgUp for brightness) maybe I need drivers? Haven't tried, just plug n played.

Not as bright as I would like but in an un-lit room at 4AM it works. It is a bit more narrow (wide way) t6hat I am retraining my fingers for position. Tactile is good on this keyboard. Keys are NOT stiff but you feel them when you type. It is wired which I chose intentionally. It might be just me but wireless KB's always seem to lag. To cheap to buy a gamesters KB. ... show more

This keyboard is perfect. Great feel to the key, Well lite keys throughout. Selecting colors are working fine. You cannot beat the price on this keyboard. It is a well designed keyboard, very solid. This keyboard should last a long time. Very happy with it.
