I’ve worn side-zip boots, both dress and work boots, for 40 years as they’re easy to get on and off plus support your ankle better than regular shoes. Unfortunately, they seem to be getting harder and harder to find, especially with respect to dress boots. The last pair of work boots I bought, approximately two years ago and for over $100, are getting worn and, after 2-3 hours of yard work, including pushing the mower for an hour, were causing my feet to ache and swell so much that I would be hobbling around a day or two afterwards until my feet felt better. I found these on Amazon and thought I’d give them a try. I’m glad I did, especially given the price. I’ve worn them three times doing yard work, and they are so, so, so much more comfortable than the boots I had been wearing, and they seem to getting more comfortable with each use. Most importantly, my feet don’t ache nor have they swollen after wearing these boots for several hours. They also look nice (I bought the black ones) and I wouldn’t have a problem wearing them as casual dress shoes. A few other thoughts and opinions: The upper eyelets are actually little tubes that the lace runs through. In my opinion, they’re a little bit harder to pull the laces through than ordinary eyelets and over time would probably abrade the laces faster than regular eyelets, but since the zipper eliminates the need to regularly tie and untie the laces, this probably isn’t a big deal. On the plus side, eyelets are better than speed hooks as the laces would probably come off the hooks when the boots are unzipped. The sole appears to be a little softer than some work boots I’ve owned, and as a result will probably wear a bit faster when walking on surfaces like asphalt and concrete. Time will tell. I have yet to wear them on wet or icy surfaces or in the snow, so it will be interesting to see how they compare to the soles on other boots I’ve owned. Pleasantly surprised with this purchase. These are really nice boots for what I paid ($41). The fit is perfect. I typically wear a mens 10.5. Amazon suggested an 11 in this particular boot. I ordered the 11 and Amazon was right. The 11 is perfect. The appearance is beyond expectation. Laces are decent, eyelets are different than ive had before, but seem to be built well. Boots are crazy comfy. The day after they were delivered, I wore them while doing some excavating work. About a 16 hr day. I think I could have worn these boots another 16 hrs. An unexpected property of these boots, my particular pair are utterly silent. Nothing. No squeak, no creaking, no material noise....nothing. I may invest in a second pair to use as my early season hunting boot. I've only used these boots for about a week, but that week was 10+ hrs of significant outdoor labor every day. Im not expecting these to last 7 years like my Danners (about $350), but I couldn't be more pleased thus far. ... show more

I bought these boots, and I liked them quite a bit. I didn't wear them every day, only infrequently. They still look pristine. but the zipper broke on one shoe and won't zip back together without splitting down the middle. It's just frustrating because I don't wear them often and yet when i went back to them, they weren't able to hold up to average wear and tear, much less work situations. Update: The boots were replaced very kindly and quickly and hopefully will hold up this time. ... show more

I didn't expect much from a boot that cost what this does. To put this into perspective, I am almost 300 lb. I have been wearing these boots mostly everyday for the last month and a half almost two months. They possibly have 2 months worth of life left in them. Ever since the army went away from black leather boots that you had to polish, and everyone started utilizing tactical boots that looked more like sneakers, all boot quality across the board has gone downhill. However, these boots take a couple of extra shortcuts. The rubber quality and consistency of the sole is deplorable. There is no shank in these boots, no additional protection/support in the sole. Where the ball of my feet meet the ground, where the boot sole flexes, the sole is wearing the tread away. They aren't "waterproof" and I don't believe the description for this boot mentions anything of the sort, however, if I walk through dew covered grass in the morning, my toes get wet. The boots fit well. The side zipper appears to be holding up fine. The stitching is coming undone all around the boots. The laces look to be worthwhile, but you don't stress them much, since you zip them on and off. They will get you through in a pinch, but they won't last. ... show more

I bought them as they were very cheap in price.. so after 9 months i am very surprised as how the boots held up. I'll buy them again once these are worn out.. the insoles are crap so buy quality insoles but what do you expect for such a cheap boot"dollar Wise". But bought two pair so i alternate them every other day. the boots last longer that way. the brown boots had a couple of big rocks that were in the bottom of the boots where to work out. I've bought 180 dollar boots the did not last 6 months. ... show more

I purchased these for my best friend who does Construction. He needed a new set of boots and he told me about these. They work for on the spot Construction. They’re not steel toe but will do for a light medium construction work.
